the item you buy might not have richardson written anywhere on the product and may just say Amefa, who has bought our Richardson, there is a big thread about this somewhere else, and we are all waiting for Amazon to clarify soon.......:?

Read all about Amefa here...

They were misrepresenting the item they were selling in the other richardson offer, by sending out amefa knifes. If this is legal, all those people with skodas should sell their cars as volkwagens lol.

Dont fall for these!!! i ordered the last set that were posted on here which were advertised as Richardson Wilkinsons turned out to be Amefas?! (something you might pickup in a flea market) I complained on their website which was promply removed!!
I returned them and got my refund! Lost faith in Amazon.

You folk are crazy - Richardson isn't a particularly good knife brand (not for a decade or two at least) and anyway, you don't need a bunch of knives.

You can easily find a decent chef's knife for a tenner. It'll serve you far, far better than any number of terrible Richardson-type knives.

Also, what are the Richardson knives made of? I don't see it detailed...

I agree that Richardson are utter garbage but where do you get a decent chefs knife for a tenner?

T'bay.

I have a beautiful Emil Erm knife scored from the dreaded Bay for around a tenner. If not, you can get a thoroughly decent Victorinox knife for around that price...

It says Amefa UK under the description on Amazon, had some of these exact knives for years and are perfectly average knives.

So you got one knife for under a tenner? Score. :?

you ever done any actual cooking? a good knife should never be underestimated or scoffed at. £10 is very inexpensive - Go and look at the price of Global knives or other such premium brands and keep your ill informed sarcastic comments to yourself

Try finding an Emil Ern knife for a tenner (or anywhere near it) before you post stupid comments such as this. A quality knife is worth its weight in gold due to the time saved and - believe it or not - a sharp kniife is safer to work with than an inferior knife, due to less cutting.

A good tip for knife buying (assuming it's for home use) is to try to find 'new old stock' (nos) with wooden handles. Most of Europe doesn't allow them to be used in commercial kitchens any more, so you can bag a real bargain.

@ Diekund & Dink

Before you both start crying, you've completely missed the point in hand.

This deal isn't about how to get 1 knife for £10, it's how to get a knife BLOCK for £10. People want to buy this set because it covers a lot of bases, rather than just one that no doubt that 1 knife does.

e.g. Say I want to cut bread, can it do that? Oh it can? Ok then. I guess it debone a joint as well then...oh wait, no it can't.

I don't deny that you can get a good knife for under a tenner, but this is a RANGE of knives.
