Where's the bad Amazon reviews then?

Excellent price thank you

One would think that both sets are the same coating, if this is true they will both have the same issues.

Presumably the colour free ones won't have coloured paint to peel off.
Anybody actually got any and have an opinion? they do look cheap and nasty on the pic to be honest.

Id agree with stingergb, the monochrome set will have the same issues, they look nice but they are let down by impractical painted handles, shame.

I've gone through phases of buying different types of knives and now pretty much 95% of the time stick to using a large chef's knife (the big pointy jobby) for most things and a smaller kitchen devil utility knife for the few times a smaller blade is needed.

Unless you have very specific, very regular requirements for particular knives then they're a waste of money a lot of the time. How often in reality do people fillet fish?! You will get some use out of the carving knife (although most of that could be done with the chef's knife) and the bread knife, the others will probably sit in a drawer most of the time.

I've done the big Japanese style knife and it's a thing to behold but again, pretty limited in its use.

I have these and they are super! If it helps I have had them for three months and they are put in the dishwasher everyday. They are like the day we bought them

Monochrome....sounds like a disease.

Such a monochrome way of seeing things, my monochromatic friend

I have the colour ones of these and the paint on the two most frequently used ones have peeled off quite badly

I have got the monochrome set and they look dreadfull after 3 months of use. They state they are dishwasher proof but i wouldnt recommend putting them in a dishwasher as it has ruined my set.

I've had a set of Richardson knives. They look fantastic, but can't keep an edge, they need sharpening at least weekly if your a keen home cook.
