Why do they never include a sharpener? Random question I know, but lets face it, you need one :?

(i ask because i know some if not most of you are vastly knowledgeable in all fields of life)

lol @ Showman :giggle:

I do agree though Shengis, a sharpener would be most useful!

Agree this is a good price - but for longevity I would pay a little more...

How long should a set of knives last for ?

My wife got judge Sabatier ones 4 years ago,(bout 40quid at the time) and the handles are falling apart and they seem pretty blunt to me.

Knives need sharpening regularly

Sabatier is made of a fairly soft steel and blunts quickly.

They are supposed to be dishwasher-safe, but I think it's a bad idea. They also have a 25-year guarantee.

Judge is not a good brand, hence the low price, if you want something good, look here:

I think you'll find the Japanese knives above are cheaper and better than Global. The Japanese brands in the UK are sold at rip-off prices to us Brits, unfortunately.

Down to £33.98 now

Another interesting knife thread can be found ]here.

The relatively cheap Victorinox knives come out on top in many of the consumer tests.
