The Samsung PS42c450 offers top plasma TV quality at a bargain price.

When it comes to response time and dynamic colour, it's very hard to beat a plasma TV. The Samsung PS42c450 demonstrates all that is great about plasma TVs. With a response time of just 0.0001m/s, the PS42c450 is ideal for fast moving sports events. Thanks to the Clear Image Panel, this Samsung plasma TV is also clearer than many in its class. Instead of glass, it uses a film filter that reduces glare and blur from the picture. Mega Dynamic Contrast ratio ensures that subtle detail is carefully recreated, with even the darkest images being skilfully resolved. This Samsung plasma TV also makes use of 600Hz sub-field scanning. This picture processing system reduces motion blur and gives crisper contours, sharper text and less judder. Samsung have an excellent reputation for the quality of their plasma displays and the PS42c450 is no exception. Rich colour, smooth motion and excellent levels of detail - the PS42c450 has got the lot.

When the picture is as involving as this we'd strongly recommend a separate sound system to match. As standard the PS42c450 provides 2 x 10 watts and a brace of Dolby sound processors. The new Dolby Pulse system makes the PS42c450 ready for the next generation of broadcasts. Dolby Pulse will offer better sound quality from typical TV programs. Dolby Digital Plus processing is also on hand to get the best from the latest block buster films.

When it comes to connecting the PS42c450 up to the rest of your home cinema, this 42 inch plasma has got all the basics covered. Three HDMI sockets for digital sources are matched by SCART, component and composite for analogue. There's a handy USB socket for connecting up your mobile device, such as digital camera and a PC input for big screen gaming or web surfing.

It may offer fantastic value for money, but the PS42c450 certainly doesn't look cheap in terms of style. With its piano gloss black finish, accented by a slim frame and rose tinted lip, the PS42c450 looks like a more expensive TV. This quality of finish is carried through to the glass pedestal stand.

For a better image at a better price, the Samsung PS42c450 is a true plasma champion

Hi guys,

I wanted to reply to the comments on this thread suggesting that our Deal of the Week isn’t in stock!

Why would we possibly be advertising something that we don’t have available? This only antagonises customers, which is obviously the last thing we would want. Having said that I do accept that deals can sell out quickly and unevenly across our 51 stores which is quite different and certainly regrettable. In fact at the time of writing this post we are sitting on 313 of these in the company.

If any forum member has had problems getting hold of this deal then please PM me and I will arrange to get one of these for you asap, at the deal price.

Many thanks,

John Clayton

Hi All,

Just bought the last one from Romford Branch. Served by paul who was a legend and even helped me stick it in my car. No longer avaliable in the store but said there was about 200 odd in the wharehouse which can be delivered for next friday in store.

thanks again - ukhotdeals always comes top trumps. cheers OP.

Once again John Clayton from Richersounds makes a much welcomed appearance...it's really good that he bothers to reply and offers help if required.

Much respect indeed!

seems like an excellent price for a 42" Samsung Plasma.... an amazing price all things considered.

I prefer to watch tv in the lounge myself :-p

If you have an Invitation Book, don't forget you can get another tenner off.

I have this TV, bought about 9 months ago for £400, and I have to say I'm very happy with it. If you dont need full HD or freeview HD then this is a bargain.

for the money its a bargain, no its a steal, not for me though as i want freeview HD, and no i dont want to buy a bloody hd box

I've had a previous model of this TV for 4 years now. Still going strong, still looks good and I paid nearly £700 for it. Sure you can get more bells and whistles on their later kit but for a TV screen and builtin freeview this is PLENTY for most people. My mother in law love her TV of the same ilk (slightly different model)
Picture wuality is great and BBC iPlayer HD though HDMI looks fabulous as does any other 720p source material.
HEAT!!!!!

It doesn't say 1080p

1080p is not the end of the world and this is a bargain.

Most normal people could not tell the differnce between 720p and 1080p anyway - its only really obvious watching a blue ray on highend kit side by side.

The same people don't know that Sky broadcast a big chunk of its HD content as 720p native (which is then normally upscaled to 1080i) - they just insist on having the biggest shinest number on the front of their set without any understanding of what it represents.

A great price for a great product, all of the 1080p trolls here would do well to go visit AV forums before making irrelevant comments here.
