saw these on Groupon for £30.98 with free delivery. use code 'save10' and you get £10 off if you're a new customer with Groupon (I just used a new email).

Yes I know loads of ppl will say it's a rubbish printer and not colour, but for someone like me who uses it maybe twice a year to print holiday bookings then it's worth the money especially as my inkjet printer ink has always dried up when I come to use it.

be nice it's my first time posting a deal

Good little printer, but be warned the wifi connecting process can be tricky.

really? do you have the option to use cables too? I'm really not tech savvy!

Again!? Missed out on the Groupon deal on these last time and went via Ebay and I have one as a backup.

Bought it last time when it was for £15. Won't recommend groupon

Bought, thanks.

Are the inks cheap for this? Can you get non genuine inks?

inks are expensive as they are on a roll thingy we have bought a new one as it was cheaper than buying the ink lol

Thanks, reminds me of the Lexmark printers, was cheaper to buy a new printer than buying the ink

New toner for 2600 pages costs £22, try that with inkjet.

(what inks on a roll thing - rabbitnangel)

Yup. Had to manually configure the IP etc for it as the WPS seems to be notoriously hit and miss!

Good printer though especially at this price

Can you just print from an iPad? I presume you use wps on the router then press something on the printer to connect the printer to your network? After than can you just print from an iPad? Sorry for questions but never had a wireless printer and not 100% sure but for this price I want to go for it.

Installed quite a few of these, and they take about 5 min to setup on a pc once unpacked.

When I plugged it in via USB it went perfectly in a couple of min, it was just the wireless which for some reason refused to do WPS (pin or push button. Didnt mind as it only cost me 15 notes!

Id also recommend the android app for this printer as you can print direct from the phone too without messing around with settings.

Nearly bought last time then my printer died a week later so was disappointed I didn't.
Ordered this time so thanks OP.

I struggled so much with this printer - but it was my fault. You can set up printing profiles to use economy mode and different paper sizes and whether to use the front paper feeder and all that and you might think "OOoh, I'll print this off!" and forget to change profiles. If the lights are flashing and you just can't seem to get it to print then pull open the front then close it again - that's if it thinks it's got a paper jam. If you've told it to do a job like pull something into the manual slot (I do this when printing labels for my beer bottles) then want to print something just using the paper tray and it's not working because you weren't there to feed paper or something, then just tap the job-cancel button on the printer, wait to see if it does anything, then tap again because maybe you were there like me smashing the print button 20 times because nothing was happening. I was doing it over a network via a different pc and it was getting the error messages, not mine.

ive got 4 laser printers now because of hotuk ... I darent buy another of these (got 2 already)

Got this on the £15 deal, would definitely recommend it as a printer, can't comment on the longevity of the starter toner yet myself.

WiFi install in theory is easy, in fact it worked straight away for me despite WPS button being flakey for me in the past (in fact I have it turned off in my router). You can configure the network manually but it's more of a pain. Alternatively just use it via the included USB cable if you don't need networking.

Code is Save10. Ordered again, great wee printer.

I did post the code above

ps If you are setting up wireless, DON'T connect the USB lead or install the drivers first. Use the WPS button on your router, then the blue round wireless button on the printer. It should connect with it. Then it'll get what it needs from the CD. If you do, you will have to totally remove the drivers, and try again. Use Google to search, on how to do that for your operating system, as it varies.

Yes but save10 (with a wee s - as posted in your header) DIDN'T work for me!

it took me ages to figure out how to put the paper in. I would recommend this printer very cheap plastic but works great.

It's a great printer!

Worked just fine for me.

dont copy and past code, type it in. it works

Great printer. I would agree with some of the comments about the WiFi. I have to reinstall the printer if I turn my router off, I installed it using wps. Haven't managed to work out how to manually configure it, maybe that would be more stable.

I wonder if rabbitangel is saying that as toners are often tubular?

really? that's strange, I didn't have to use any capital.

I have this printer and I can print using iPhone and iPad via Ricoh app.

Also a better option is to using a static rule in router DHCP to assign a same IP to the printer. So you don't have to reconfigure printer's IP every time if it's changed by router DHCP.

No, unfortunately with Apple you'll need the printer to be AirPrint compatible, although a poster further down has said there's a manufacturer app, have a look into it first before committing.

I've stuck to inkjets for health reasons. I'm worried that the particles from laser printers could be harmful.

You're probably best off not eating the printer

I hate this printer. all the lights are flashing now I've only used it a few times. paper got jammed and I fix the jam still flashing lights. also app doesn't work on my s7 edge for printing only on my Z3 tablet.

You'll be fine. If you read the toner cosh sheets you will find that they expose rats to huge amounts of toner to see what the effects are on their lungs. Pretty horrible life as they get cut open afterwards. Always found it ironic when animal rights activists hand out photocopied flyers.

To be honest we have new HP laser printers and I can't even get a whiff of ozone off them

Thanks, I think.

I'm a bit careful with these things - we didn't used to worry about asbestos and it took a long time to learn. I've come to the belief that, especially if someone profits from it, inhaling lots of tiny particles of anything unnecessarily is probably something I'd rather avoid.

But each to his or her own.

Yeah depends on the product. I have a Brother label printer that works with Apple stuff through wifi it's not Airport compatible at all.
