Excellent .Ordered. Good price for wireless and laser.
Regret buying it and it's not excellent. Looks great and neat but that's not everything. It doesn't like to be switched off. Jams after switched on so needs to be on standby. Comes with almost empty toner - enough for a couple of dozen of pages. Got it for 19 quid and regret it. Expensive toner afterwards.

Ricoh - they're the Onkyo of the printer world. Made in a factory in Loughborough.
I will take a punt on this if I find cheap compatible toners for it. Anyone?
Cancelled order. so fickle of me.

Just buy another printer when it runs out...

Ricoh have been a printer manufacturer for YEARS. Pretty much like Epson. Wiki : en.wikipedia.org/wik…coh
Where have you been???

mac compatible??

Doesn't look like it. I didn't realise printers would NOT support Mac in this day and age. Made that mistake with my Ricoh SP201. Had to run AirPrint via Windows to make it a bit more usable.

This probably means something significant, but what? (I get the heat bit=you like)
Starter toner gives 700 pages.
High yield (2,600 pages) toner looks like £30 from the internet.
Refills here and work very well and easy to do.

Reviews online - I would have posted a positive - for a balance but unfortunately I couldn't find any

I do not recommend this printer. I have it for over a month now and I'm not satisfied. It comes cheap because it is cheap.
Iv been looking this for the past week

There are actually somebody reviews from American site

I'd like some proof it does only twenty pages , this seems unlikely

Ordinarily Mono Laser printers are not exciting, but since this was cheap I got excited slightly. To elicit further excitement please refer to the excellent Osmonds hard rock nigh even metal bombast - Crazy Horses

youtube.com/wat…yxc

The best part of the song, is the bit where they say Crazy Horses and they make a crazy horse sound on the synth. Simply replace the words 'Crazy Horses' with 'Mono Laser'.

Example :

Mono Laser neiiiiiighh neiiggghh

That properly got me stoked up on this deal. HOT!

Who said buy another £30 printer?

My Ricoh SP201 which I paid £19.99 for, is on the original toner (unknown yield). Thats 18 months (and counting) of printing occasional courier slips.

If you're printing War and Peace, you're looking at the wrong end of the market.

Yield, is commonly calculated on 5% page area coverage. So even a toner claiming 2600 ain't gonna go near that if you're doing War and Peace.

At this price point. You're literally talking the difference in pence.

Irrespective, its still bad advice. Buy a refil kit, or why not ask the original poster how many prints they might need and maybe recommend another printer.

As for your example, thats way to anecdotal to have any relevance to your original comment.

Tops , the point is if you only do occasional printing 4.2 or even 7p a page is a lot better than having your ink dry up

Refill kits are messy, and my experience of non-genuine toners (clogging the print head, leaving blotches over the paper etc) mean I'd prefer to stick with genuine.

Everyones going to play it differently, each to their own. I'm of the opinion that when mine runs out, I'll just buy another.
coudnt agree more

You do realise well actually you don't, that there are no print heads in a laser printer.
Buy it, use it until the toner runs out, then throw it away and buy another printer. I had a SP201, the toner lasted about six months. The original Ricoh replacement toner was £60 plus, a compatible one was about half price and didn't work so I requested my money back. Watching some youtube videos of 'fill your own' replacements terrified me.

I'm currently using a SP 112su - no complaints using Ricoh printers, just the cost of the replacement toners.
£60.69 for the toner!!!!!

I couldn't think of the word. Drum, roller or whatever it is called. Either way, these examples are similar to my experiences with non genuine compatibles.

Again, each to their own.

I bought the 201n when it was on here for £20. I think it's an excellent printer, pretty fast and quality is great. Toners are expensive but a DIY refill was easy enough to do for £16. Original toner lasted ages for me. Perhaps you were unlucky and just got a bad printer.

If you only print occasionally and in B&W then this is a great choice.

That looks more like the idiot who tried refilling the toner didn't know what they were doing.
Pretty obvious the prints would come out like that just by looking at the toner rollers.

I've been using refills for several different laser printers for years and never suffered that problem. Dumping a printer after the initial toner runs out or not refilling a genuine toner is just playing into the hands of printer manufactures.

Rest assured, PCL - a language for telling a printer what to print, and how - is available in both OS X and Linux. As long as you the listing is being honest about that feature, you should have little trouble getting your compute to talk directly to this printer.

Plus, laser printers' toner doesn't dry out/clog with disuse, like inkjet printers' ink does, so a laser printer is a smart, economical purchase for those who, like me, rarely print.

Heat from me for this famous, long-established, tech. brand.
You get approx 500 pages from the 'starter' toner. You can then use one of the top up kits that I posted to refill the demo one giving you 1500 pages, definite as I own two of these.

Refilling is a piece of cake, just take your time and do it step by step and its a 10 minute job done. Good as results as a genuine one.
