A reminder that this is a demo.

You get about 10% of the game by spending £15, and have to buy the rest in game.

Been this price for ages and £15 for a demo doesn't sound like a good deal to me.

nope you got it all wrong, if you buy now it contains the DLC code (£6.99) otherwise for all the extra tracks and cars

If by all you mean an 'extra' 5 cars and 3 tracks, then yes, you got all that stuff extra for a limited time. Still a glorified demo.

Its an interesting idea on the freemium model.. Charge very little for a taste then charge you more for more content.. I think its good they are doing this as I do not want to buy £30-£40 mobile games.. BUT £15 is too much for what you get in todays IOS/Android world. (Even with the now added free DLC)

This should have been a £4.99 download only game and EVERY single vita buyer would have punted a go with it.

P.S bought a VITA in the end using 2x £50 PC world vouchers... Have ended up going for Wipeout (which is well wipeout) and uncharted which I will complete and trade in ASAP..

Although I haven't bought the game, I think is not that bad actually. Inside the box you have a dlc code worth 7 quid and also a coupon for 8£ off of touch my katarami, which effectively makes it cost 16.99

i bought this and its well worth it the people critising it probably havent even see what you get..

you get a £8 voucher to buy touch katamari you also get all dlc for free when means you get 3 extra tracks, more cars and loads of music for free too ..the music alone is £1.49 per pack and you get about 8 packs free..also its not a glorified demo its got exactlly the same ammount of stuff if not more than came with the orginal ridge racer..the graphics, sound, controls are also top notch this has to be one of the best ridge racers out but as always you need to be a fan of ridge racers to appreciate it fully ..:)

Kaz Hirai.

Google him.

Kazuo Hirai is the CEO of sony. Back when PSP was launched he was hyping up Ridge Racer but it was a massive fail...basically search for "kaz hirai ridge racer" on youtube and see what comes up!lol X)

First thing I would do is mute the music anyway!

89% average rating = massive fail!

If you have RR7, you dont need this, it has and will only ever have around 20% of its content.

I have it, and I would strongly recommend everyone NOT to buy this game.

I got it as a present and I still feel ripped off!

Anyone describing the game as a demo has it spot on.

I got this before i read the reviews, but after reading up i sent it straight back. The only thing i will say to be fair, is that there are not many Vita launch games that don't feel like cheap knockoffs to me. I did intend to use the £15 i saved on this for Fifa Soccer coz at least that game has online play but even with that version, i cant help but feel their holding the good stuff back for Fifa 13 in September and it soon comes around, those extra couple of months will give the developers that much needed extra time to get get their games more optimized for the ps vita and hopefully the games released then will be nearer to their console counterparts.

The problem isn't just the lack on cars and tracks, its the lack of any significant single player component that is the problem.

Ridge Racer PSP was excellent. They were showing the PSone version running on the hardware a year later (already eleven years old at the time!).

it's a fiver off the RRP so on the face of it, a good deal. But the lack of a proper single player career mode, and basically having nothing to do but do single races ad nauseum on the slim selection of tracks makes this not really worth it.

This will be the first Vita game to drop to a fiver. I give it 2 months.

Why is the DLC code given an expiry date of the end of March? That's just ridiculous, and a great way of ensuring no sales beyond that date unless the game is heavily discounted. Ridge Racer 7 could have been easily ported to Vita, instead they strip all single player component out and have you racing the same few tracks ad nauseum to keep your chosen team top of the leaderboard....who cares? The online racing is also unbalanced due to the upgrades you have to grind to unlock...people who've had the game longer will mince you. It's poorly designed, poorly thought out, lacking in content and even at £15, a massive rip-off. You can get indie games off Xbox live for 80 points that feature a LOT more content.

I have this game and I am now addicted to it. The content when you first get the game is poor but I got the extra dlc which is good. Ok I understand that there is not a lot of content but if you play online then its a good buy. I have been playing it all weekend and I am happy with my purchase. You sign up to a team and you get missions everyday. You can challenge or upload ghost races to get to the top of the table and you can do head to head which is fun. There is a lot more to this game than people are letting on. F1 2011 is crap and so is Asphalt s this is the racer to get for the Vita. Its not a bad start but I can't wait for Gran Turismo so fingers crossed they bring one out ;-)

Yeah, it's a similar let down as Gran Turismo for the PSP was as both have dropped any real Single Player Career mode and went instead for just a basic Arcade & Time Trial Mode, which is a real shame.

You do, but don't be fooled into thinking it is all the extra tracks and cars as that is simply not true. The first DLC pack is free with the code the next few will cost you.

general release date 20 March 2012?

BTW, for what it's worth i picked up Touch My Katamari (fnar) at the weekend (had Gamestation points to get rid of before they go bust!) and used the £8 off voucher that comes with that to get this via the PSN Store for £7.99 (including the gold pass, which is the DLC that comes with the boxed version)

Not bad at that price, but I'd be reticent to pay more for it due to the sparcity of content on offer.
