What with the weather like it has been lately, this might come in useful, but for the cost of it overall, this is a great buy for anyone, check this out:

A few months ago a similar offer was posted, however this is much better, and possibly the cheapest Vehicle Breakdown Cover with as many options possible.

1) Currently Greenflag are offering a 1/3 off their top level cover online
2) Quidco are offering for the next couple of days £50 Cashback for the Recovery Plus cover:

Recovery Plus offers all this:
Local Vehicle Recovery
No Callout Charges
Message Service
Cover at home
Long distance recovery
Options if can't be fixed
Cash to collect your car

3) I went via Quidco, ordered via the Greenflahg link, their Recovery plus starts at £60, but you get a 1/3 off (as mentioned above) so my quote came in at £54. Take off the Quidco and there you have, top notch car cover which covers most options for just £5!!!!
Obviously this may vary according to your vehicle, mileage etc

P.S. The quidco will track at £5 first, then once you verify it, it should eventually go up to the £50. Also, the cashback is provided by QUIDCO themselves not Greenflag, so any issues shouldn't take long to resolve.

The AA and RAC offer similar cover for around £75 but the maximum cashback is arounnd £42, end cost £30. So for a fiver from Greenflag, its all good,

Hope this helps someone out.

A third off 60 quid does not make it 54 quid
Just be careful with green flag as the cover excludes

"Vehicles temporarily immobilised by floods
or snow-affected roads or as a result of
whole or partial immersion in water, snow,
sand or mud."
I am waiting on this deal to payout on Quidco atm.
Has anyone else been paid out on this?
Wow thats well worth it - have been with green flag for a few years now and have had to call them out a few times and no issue with the service at all

My renewal comes up on February so I am now seriously thinking about renewing now (its a no brainer - £5 for the year)

Hmm yeah, should be £40 not £54

It says starts at £60 so I think the OP's quote must have been £81,so 33% discount would be £54.

Should go sky high if this works out!
Quidco will only pay cashback on Green Flag policies to users who use BACS as their payment method.

be sure not to pay via credit card

yep, make sure that quidco pays out to your bank account
Good deal used them yesterday when car wouldn't start via my Natwest account. £12.95 per month going up to £15 soon. May consider this option.

Went through Quidco to renew my Recover Plus and it tracked at £5.00

but as O/P say it should go to the £50.00 when confirmed in your account.

Here is what Quidco says when I asked them about the amount ?

Don’t worry - Green Flag Rapid Breakdown Cover always tracks in this way. This will update to the correct amount prior to the cashback being confirmed in your account.

But as last year it takes 6months for payment but got it in June :-)

BACS is the payment method used by Quidco to pay you the cashback, and is not related to the payment method that you use to pay for your breakdown cover.

I think it's only a third of the top priced breakdown cover tbh.
why does my cover come to £104?
Mine came to £107.06 - Probably due to the age of the car.

12 year old car with mileage of 10-15k per year.
My quote is £97.52, not £60

11 year old car mileage 5-10k a year

I think the OP needs to change the title, because Recovery Plus is "From £60", you need to get a quote to get your actual price.
does cover varies depending on what vehicle you own?

or just age and mileage?
Edited by: "square88" 21st Dec 2012
same here, mine came to £82, same as a few months back when there was no 1/3 off. Sounds like a bit of sham tbh.
Can anyone tell me if Cover at Home is work paying the extra for? What will they actually do if you cannot start your car in the driveway?

Probably both. They also ask your occupation which could have an effect.
Start rescue £35 seems to offer all the cover mentioned in above posts.

Yeah I'm not sure it's worth paying for all the extras.
basic cover isn't worth it, go to rac via TCB & get 2 people covered for any car £65 & that will get your car taken anywhere you want & includes home breakdown. AA cashback isn't bad at the mo either.

Good find, took this offer last time but cancelled it when it didn't track. We'll see this time. A bit strange, it quoted me £74.40 for Recovery Plus, I 'continued' until payment, went back and changed the start date from Jan 1 to Dec 28, and it dropped to £64.20 when I hit the re-calculate button.
Mine came in at £76! ....expensive
Quidco says £25 cash back?

Quidco says £25 cash back?

Posted this a week ago, read the 1st post again...

2) Quidco are offering for the next couple of days £50 Cashback for the Recovery Plus cover:
Quidco cashback now down to £25
GreenFlag are a "faster paying" retailer on Quidco, although I have not yet been paid.
I queried it was and was told that they pay out within 6 months..shocking.
Cost me £100... cashback at £50... dumped.
just did a quote and it's £59.36 so if the £50 cashback goes through ok, it'll only cost £9.36.
Thanks OP, decided to go with this and will keep an eye on Quidco.
Just a heads up, TopCashback are doing £50.50 cash back on Green flag, Quidco is £25 right now.
84.80 for me
Used TCB for Greenflag 11 months ago - it tracked but merchant has held payment it says on TCB :-(
