I have never used this product. Is it greasy? and does it really work all day with 1 application?

I have used this for years. You apply it about an hour before you go out into the sun, non greasy, completely absorbed into the skin and yes it does last all day even if you spend a lot of time in sea or swimming pool. I have just replenished my supply from Amazon at a cost of £14.40. Highly recommended.

I got the Calipso once a day for kids from Home Bargains, think it was £4.99. Use it mainly for school as so far it's proved brilliant. Beautiful smell and rubs in pretty easily considering it's a cream, not ridiculously thick like some kids creams. Only need to apply 15mins before sun exposure too.
Can defo recommend if you want to spend less!

I used this a few years ago... and got burnt... badly!

I followed the instructions fully (i.e. applying in the morning and then staying out of the sun for the recommended time) so i'm not sure if it's just me, as the product did get very good reviews at the time and was recommended to me by a family member.

NB: I am of the blonde haired, fair skinned, non-tanning variety... the kind that tends to go red in the sun rather than brown!

Thanks for info

This may be good but what a rip off
sun lotions are.

Went to Thailand recently where this product was amazing.
It applied well and lasted for a very long time.

I would recommend it to a family member

I use this for both of my little girls and cannot recommend it enough. I apply 15 mins before going out in the sun and it really does last all day, even with them dipping in and out of the pool all day. It is a non greasy liquid lotion which rubs in easy. Not much is required and the bottle lasted all summer! I have just bought one from amazon for £14 ish and thought that was a fab price so this is hot!!!

Love this stuff we always use it, gives fantastic coveridge when we are in Very Hot Egypt. Never burnt with it always go a lovely even tan. No its not greasy more alcohol based, just apply before going out into the sun give it chance to dry in.

Another user here, red hair (whats left of it lol) and fair skinned, used to burn very easily, not been burnt yet when using this.

The good news is, that with the new formula you only have to apply it 15 minutes before going out. My wife and I love this as we both burn normally. Have been using this for the last 5 years and not suffered since.
Thanks OP.

Matt (and others who have replied saying they burn easily) - can you tell me something - I see you don't burn with this, but do you tan?

I use this stuff and yes you I do tan, there is also a factor 10 (which is the one I use predominately). Can't recommend it highly enough, apply once and away you go. I haven't used it on the Kids though, I stick with repeated lashings of a water resistant F50 for them.

The P20 stuff used to have really low UVA protection which is what allowed people to tan and not get burnt. This stuff has a better rating nowadays though. I've used it before and it does what it says it does. Just dont rub your skin with a towel. Let yourself dry naturally otherwise you will rub it off to some extent.

Someone say it doesn't works well, really?

Not greasy and it really does work. Just came back yesterday from a week in Portugal and rubbed this into the girlfriend every morning and even after swimming multiple times it still worked. I used Wilkinsons factor 25 spray as a comparison and got sunburnt on my belly after swimming and not re-applying. Hot shower next day = swear-me-dooooo!

Got recommend this for my son because it also seems to stop prickly heat and with children its great put on before you leave your room and done for the day !!!!8)

used this many times,it has been 12.00 for a while in asda. if applied correctly you wont get burned. and the older stuff is active after about an hour and the newer 15 mins.i seem to remember asda were doing the 15mins one.
watch this stuff on your clothes as it does stain!!!!!
really good product if u read the label

I love this stuff. Another cheaper alternative, and in my opinion just as good is Calypso once a day factor 20. 200ml costs £6 in matalan and I use it for the kids. Swear by it!!

Used to burn every summer despite putting normal cream on. Not burnt once in the 8 or so years i've been using this.
Let it dry properly though - stains like hell if you don't.

cheaper to stay indoors

I have been using this for the last five years - another one with red hair, fair skin and freckles - and it works brilliantly, always use to burn previously!! now go to India every year in 40degree heat and come home with a lovely golden tan, i did run out of it one year three days before i was due to come home and ended up looking like a lobster - even though i used a factor 50 and reapplied continuously, i would never go out in the sun now without it, its absolutely brilliant stuff!! be careful though when applying that you wash your hands after as if you manage to get it in your eyes it causes really severe irritation.

A couple of people have mentioned the main annoyance of this product - you have to factor into the cost, that you will throw away every white T-shirt you wear whilst using this product, asit stains like a MF.

Doesn't matter if you let it dry as you will sweat some of it away again, and the neck and sleeves just go yellow (EVERY time guaranteed).

I'm VERY fair skinned (never tan only go red then back to white) and used to use this but always felt the need to top it up during the day with 'regular' sun-cream.

Now I prefer Piz-Buin all-day as it does the same and (when on offer) is a better price.

I agree with some other posters. Use the Calypso at less than half the price. I used it all day for 50 days cycling across the USA in 100 deg temps and never got burnt. And Calypso does not stain clothing.

... and other posters...

I spent 257 days in 130 degrees heat digging ditches 12 hours a day bare, slapped a bit of chip fat on first thing, never burned at all

Ordered as part of my online shop and was substituted for Calypso instead (which I refused)

Reading the comments maybe I should have kept it ;o(

I usually burn like my avatar colour whenever exposed to any kind of sunlight. I think even bright lights make me burn a little :-)!
I can say without a doubt that P20 and the pretty much same ULTRAsun products are fantastic.

One application pretty much protects you for the day!

One thing to point out....DO NOT get it in your eyes....goddam it stings a lot.
Also make sure you wash your hands afterwards as this will get into your clothes! It usually cleans out in the wash but you dont want to be walking around with yellowish stains by your crotch area...like i had to the other week :-(!

Other than that is by far the best Sun protection I have ever USED! Buy it you will not regret it!!!

Amazing suncream... literally once a day application, sometimes it feels like you are burning, but i've never reapplied after going in the sea and never burned with this stuff. Its not that greasy either, you do need to leave it dry for 5 minuites before getting dressed as it has been known to stain clothes but once its dry its fine

Why is this sun cream so good? What is unique about it's ingredients?

Don't like this stuff - didn't notice it to be noticeably better lasting than other waterproof lotions, and as mentioned by others, it stains clothes terribly. Bought the stuff once, never again.

prefer the Piz Buin once a day cream

Surely thats a separate issue- maybe you should see a doctor.

If an SPF20 lotion is meant to protect you for 20x longer than your natural protection, then how can this last all day?

Did P20 used to not protect against UVA? I am sure that is why i stopped using it but looking at their website it now looks like they do protect against it.
I have to agree with others, it is fab! I swapped to piz-buin which is also brilliant and now used the boots soltan all day one which i have found fine. I would swap back to P20 if it offers better protection against UVA though!

As a redhead I get burnt wearing factor 50 and have never in my life tanned. I first tried this 2 years ago went on holiday came back with no burn lines and my first ever tan (I am 34!) I buy this all the time, yes it smells really bad but it does go away. Regarding the staining on the clothes the instructions do state you apply and leave to dry before getting dressed. Would recommend to anyone, like me, have tried every other cream on the shelf and they never work. And yes you really only need to apply once a day. Voted hot!

hi , i was advised to use this by the doctor for my 3 year old who is allergic to the sun ,

Once a day refers to the longevity of the initial application. It is not referring to sun factor. You have the potential to be out in the sun for 20x longer than you would normally without reapplication.

The reason I like it is it is NOT cream, but a clear lotion meaning you don't have any random white streaks!

I have been using it for over a decade and swear by it. Will get some for my holiday too as this price, cheers OP
