Maybe that's what it makes it better than the non pro version. However there is no info in the specs about WiFi extender which may be something some people need. Otherwise, I honestly do not see the point of this when you can get a Flex 4 time cheaper or Echo Dots, also cheaper. Unless you're really concerned a smart device is listening to you, but even so, you can mute it and still use it as a chime. At this price you probably can get an Echo Show which will act as a chime and also will automatically show you who's at the door. Not voting as this may appeal to some, but I don't feel is cheap unless the WiFi extender makes a difference.

The extender does make a huge difference. The wifi on the Ring doorbell is rubbish in my experience. My front door is only at the end of a 3 metre hallway from where my router is, but if I connect the doorbell directly to my wifi, the signal is very poor.

So I put a Chime Pro in the hallway, about halfway between them, and connected it to the wifi instead and then connected the doorbell to the Pro and the signal is always excellent. The little night light is handy too. We have another one upstairs so that's useful for when the little one gets up during the night and the landing is pitch black. These are not cheap, for what they are, but I'd say this is a decent price for them.

I jumped in balls deep. Bought two of these (one for me and one for the parents house) plus a replaceable battery for the doorbell - all for £99 delivered

That's why I said the WiFi extender may be the selling point. But they did not make any comments in the specs and description about this and that's what I found it odd. Yes, maybe not much to say about this, buy that's the feature that should stand out to justify a price. If I know nothing about this and I have to buy in between the Pro and the non pro, I go with the cheap one as there is nothing to tell me why the other one is better.
