I don't know why these get so much heat. Seem very over priced ? You need a subscription too don't You? Cool idea but needs to be half that for me, maybe I don't get enough people calling at my door to make it worthwhile!! Sob. Sometimes I get mail, that's always good, get to have a chat with the postman, just a few words nornally, loads of post today is there mate ? Aye, he normally replies with. Then he's off on his travels again. Same with the food delivery men, bit nippy out there tonight mate are you finishing soon? Nah, few more hours left as he walks away back to his car. Maybe it's just not the product I need in my life right now. A few years time though, could have loads of people knocking on just for a cuppa, never know... Then i could answer like, saw ya on the doorbell cam so I knew it was safe to answer, good job i got this so I knew it wasn't a demon after my teabags! He would be like aye it's a good job mate, we would sip our tea all afternoon then he would get on his travels as I await the next person ringing the prestige doorbell. One can dream, but aye. Not for me. Not yet.
Price down as ring part 2 is out. Still scary film
this is just a doorbell, right?
For anyone with a Costco membership. This same Ring Door Bell plus the plug in chime unit is currently £98.89 delivered. This is on their website, I don't think this version it is available in store.

The theft warranty is included in this one. It's only invalid if sold through third party sellers on Amazon or eBay
My mate has just used a 1st gen on his new house and regretted it. I would recommend getting the ring 2 instead or even better the ring pro if you can afford it
I got the 1st gen and can’t fault it. Thinking about buying this one for my parents.
My 1st Gen works great does everything I want it to.
do you have to buy something additional to be able to use this?

Cloud storage is a few quid a month if you want to be able to go back and view the video - this can be quite useful if you have motion detection enabled as well.

No, I have this and love it!

just the once, but you'll need to get a police crime report which is simple enough to do

These aren’t IP rated so not suitable for all locations with the glorious weather we get in the UK
My first gen (this one in this deal) is one of my best tech purchases in the last 10 years, great product.
Great door bell with 2 down sides - Have to pay to keep videos, device will die if left out in very cold weather. Ring replaced ours for free though.
whats the difference with this one for £69? amazon.co.uk/Rin…14V

s there no way to record the video without the cloud?
The 2nd generation model is £159, this has definitely been £89 at Argos since at least December, there was a glitch when it dropped to £19 for a little while too - I managed to nab one.

Not trying to be argumentative, but everyone who has voted hot must be confusing the two models.

That's OK!
I've seen confusion on these posts for Ring before, so I purposely mentioned 720p and 1st generation in the post. I don't think people are confused.
To be totally honest with you, it's the first time I have noticed it at £89, maybe others are the same as me?

I do know of the infamous £19 glitch, only 5 days too late, well done you for nabbing one

Yes, fair play you have definitely described it correctly, I’m just amazed that the usually savvy people on here have all assumed it’s the more expensive model.

I think often once something reaches the magic 100 degrees the sheep continue to vote the same way

can take selfies with it too
The Ring 1 is actually better at its job than the Ring 2, it has a wider FOV.
Will they actually answer the door if i ring doorbell at Amazon and when will I get the £89 ?
Got Ring 2 last week from Amazon for around £126.00, brilliant piece of kit.
I’d get the ring pro or wait for nest hello personally.

Exactly! An excellent point and expertly conveyed.
Nest hello needs a pre existing bell and wiring installed, a power transformer and a chime. It also only works to minus 10 so good luck with that in a uk winter. (Autum/spring)
Has anyone had any experience with the Hikvision video doorbell? It looks like a better product, there's no monthly fees with them and can be used as part of a CCTV system. But Ring seem to have the market so maybe it's better, I really don't know techy stuff so have been stuck on these for months now.
