Not the same price if a charge for delivery. Not voting though
I am interested in doorbell pro. Is this old version?

I think Pro was released after Ring 2, not sure if it is before or after the door view cam.

Pro has to be hardwired and door view cam is installed through the peephole. I prefer the door view cam as the battery is inside the door, unlikely to be stolen and easier to charge.

Good price that surprised it is not posted as deal
How is this cold! I’ve got the pro. Obv better but absolute faff to fit got to hardwire it and connect it to consumer unit. Even existing wiring u need to replace or join up. If ur going to get a batter one and u have a peephole in the door this will look smarter and batteries are on the inside to change and keep warmer for batter life!
I like the picture on JL showing the woman knocking the door right next to the doorbell.

As this one fits onto the actual door it’s designed to pick up vibrations/noise from knocking and send alerts. It’s part of the design. I have the normal ring doorbell and a lot of people don’t ring it.

I am thinking of buying this but my peephole comes with a knocker outside, not sure how to remove the knocker.

Also I read from Ring website that the doorbell should be installed 1.2m from the ground but my peephole is much higher, not sure if it's going to work properly.

This and the ring 2 both lack 5ghz wifi support, which the pro and the new rings now support
So, the same model and same price from Amazon is 236 hot (posted yesterday) and this one is cold? I thought people like JL. Or is it again, following voters like sheep?
Surely 2 years warranty is better.

It’s not dissimilar to holding ur phone landscape so super wide angle. So u could always hold ur phone up landscape with the front view camera on to get an idea of what it’s like 1.2up and where ur peep hole is and see what it’s like. U prob won’t get people’s shoes in . It might not work quite so well motion detection wise but it will be fine doorbell wise

Yes the main problem is with the motion detection. Not sure if the wedge kit can help.

"Mount your Video Doorbell too high and you're more likely to catch the heat of passing cars than the heat of incoming visitors."

I have a porch like entrance (no door though, hope you know what I mean as I don't know how to describe it ) and the view is very much restricted. I have to check if the knocker attached to the peephole can be removed too, but then I will lose the knocker.

Hard to decide...

Searched before posting but didn't see the Argos thread, maybe the description differs a little.

Apparently the Argos deal is £119 for Click & Collection (not recommended by MOD for understandable reasons as they took off the Click and Collection part from my another thread) or £3.95 on top for delivery.

I would prefer to have free delivey and 2 year guarantee from John Lewis if I decide to buy one, but people are entitled to different opinions

Post to help those if the deal suits their needs so does not really matter how cold the thread will be. Just less chance for the thread to be seen.

Just wondering if people are actually checking the new deals posted? I normally read the highlights only but search for what I want to buy.

This is the problem. Some of my best deals were cold or didn't reach 100, so people did not see them. Once the crowd votes cold, nobody looks at the deal, most vote cold automatically without reading. I've posted cheaper, got cold, people voted hot the following week on the same product but more expensive, once I placed a comment with the expired cheaper deal, lots replied they didn't see it. A typical example is my Harman Kardon deal for approx £84, people voted hot on the same product at £130.

No, the £25 is the standard warranty. The warranty I refer to, is the sub which covers you for unlimited devices
They have the ring doorbell pro for £157 which I think is a bargain
Any voucher codes?
Not sure why cold this a great price reduction for the door view one if that's the one you want.

I first looked at getting the door view version but personally went with the Pro at £157 (Argos &JL) as it's the superior model I knew after researching the difference it was the one that I wanted.
For anyone swithering due to having to wire up the pro,it's not too bad to install if you get the plug in adaptor for the Pro from Ring, although admittedly that is only if have a socket close enough and adds £25 to price, but still cheaper than electrician to wire it. (The first adapter ring sent me was actually faulty but they sent another out within a few days-so far working well-touch wood!)
Heat added though as this good deal for door view if that's specifically the one you want.

Thank you for your comment. Pro is certainly a better option if hardwiring is not a problem.

I was waiting for the Door View Cam to go down in price as hardwiring is mission impossible for me and the Door View Cam is unlikely to be stolen. Most retailers were selling it for £159 last month as far as I remember, therefore I think £119 is a good price and John Lewis is a decent retailer.

You're right,it had been at £129 briefly with ring when I first started looking at them but then jumped back to £179. So £119 from John Lewis is excellent. I liked the fact that door view is mostly inside so harder to steal too, as you say. I did read though that if your Ring doorbell is stolen Ring will replace it free as long as you get a crime reference number from police.
£199 now?
Blacklodge05/05/2020 12:46

£199 now?

Ring Door View this thread refers to is still showing £119 for me too.
If you mean the Ring Pro then yes I noticed it looks like it has jumped up to £199 on JL and seems to have disappeared at Argos for now. Glad I got it at £157. It'll likely be reduced again somewhere before long though.
