Ring Doorbell 2 with Chime Pro at Amazon for £164.99

£164.99Amazon Deals

Found 25th Mar
This is the best price it has ever been. Stand alone is 144.99 or 164.99 with the chime pro which is nearly £40 alone.
This package usually sells for over £200.
Amazon have just bought Ring so that’s probably the reason they can offer good discounts.

£165 for a doorbell? Right... and that’s a deal?

I am just an amateur door bell presser so this Pro Version is no good to me. So how do you become a PRO user?

The Pro must be hardwired in, whereas this uses rechargeable batteries.

Argos are selling the original chime, not the chime ‘Pro’ which has Wi-fi extender. This is obv a different deal

Cold deal but still a great product, saved me numerous trips to local post office to Q up and pay a parking fee for the privilege. Nice to know when I’m away I can drop in on the front of the house when I get motion alerts too. I didn’t pay this much tho, I was one of the lucky new year bargain buys....

Yeah, I don't get it either. Should be £5 tops. As long as it makes a noise when pressed, I can look out the window to see if I want to answer it. And if I'm not in, i can't answer it.
Thanks for sharing op.....
No good for us stupid a-holes never ring the damn bell.

We have carabiners locking our gate shut so ppl can't walk in on our 2 German sheps (& to stop them opening the gate) & a doorbell outside the garden so people can still get hold of us and still couriers (usually amazon's) open gates & bang on the door had one looking thru the kitchen window waving at us recently.

So all in all if the stupid gits won't ring the doorbell in the first place then this is a very expensive waste of time. If unlike us your visitors use the doorbell and you feel that you need something like this then I guess this a reasonable deal as it's significantly reduced from normal price.

As a seasoned Burglar I think these are a super invention:

Punter with more money than sense answers the door to me to tell me that they're not in and can't answer the door. Green light to break in!

Thanks for advertising OP!
Hi,postie....just leave the parcel at the door.....
Sorry love, not allowed to do that.

Good point. But in all seriousness, your face is likely recorded? Of course you could wear a balaclava. At what point do households then call the police? Hmmm
We have the first rechargeable version and think it’s a great thing. We would like this version but don’t have electricity to that point so can’t. It’s a good discount from the RRP so I think it’s hot. I know it’s not for everyone, but we have been saved countless trips to our local sorting office to collect things and don’t have to rearrange deliveries from couriers etc. Also you can just deal with people at the door - sales/Windows/charities etc without having to actually go near the door at all so peace of mind if you are on your own on a dark evening in the winter (we get a lot of people doing door to door at 6-7pm when people home from work I suppose). So, yes, it is expensive, but it’s not just a standard door bell.
£160 for a door bell which you have to put batteries in. Which means you can easily lift off to allow you to change the batteries. You might as well hang a steal me now sign so the toe rags can steal it.
What if some one steals it? Never would pay that much for a door bell happy with £6.99 wireless doorbell
Had loads of issues with my doorbell 2 I got sent a pro chime thing for free from ring as that’s the only way to make sure of regular connection in the app. The original bell was more reliable and I never needed the pro chime to connect. Wish I’d got pro

Or just steal the doorbell itself for a quick win.
This is horrendous, its dreadfully unreliable. I had one for about 24 hours and returned it, it was hopeless!!

One of the most annoying things was if you have a street light in your street then it stopped my IR from working and guess what there's no manual override. If you want to read my honest review please have a look on my blog site.

Always one idiot

It's a valid opinion: no need to insult people just because you disagree, is there?
It’s really funny that yesterday a ring door bell was over 800 heat and today it’s -150. Are people just really tight on a Sunday?

It’s not really a valid opinion because the Ring 2 isn’t just a doorbell. It’s a sophisticated 2 way audio cctv device with motion alerts and other security benefits that happens to act as a doorbell too.

This person was too lazy to click the link and find out what the product is, but happy to actually believe that this deal is for a regular doorbell that costs £164.

So they’re either really clueless, or really stupid. Either way they’re an idiot.

Or maybe they'd read the problems some people have had with these, and making the point that a £5 doorbell does the same job? Still no need to go around calling people idiots though, it's just a bit immature, isn't it?

Or ring the doorbell of a punter with more sense than money and nobody answers and you've still got the same problem!

While the other punter with more money than sense has your face recorded on cctv and can watch what your up to and call the police/neighbour/the 20 stone body builder over the road to come and wring your neck.

Works both ways buddy but I very much like my Pro doorbell !

In that case why didn’t they say that? And anyone that genuinely believes that a £5 doorbell does the same job is a clueless idiot. If you 100% genuinely believe what you wrote I may have to put you in the same category.

Different model
It's a thing that poor people buy.

Much the same as wearing a gold chain outside your sweater was once a sign that you owned nothing of value other than the hollow chain.

From studying posts on this site It seems to me that Yankee candles and pod coffee machines serve a similar signalling function to that same demographic.

I don't think you're supposed to tell them if your in, just have a look first and can speak to them if you wish. And if you speak to them just say your busy and can't answer the door right now and come back later...

I don’t think that’s an ordinary doorbell. I just think that “smart home” companies are robbing people in board daylight with those ridiculous prices. That thing is not worth more than £40 and all the rest is early adopter tax.
