Cheers OP - this is a great deal. Voted Hot.

From my experience with the doorbell (v1) and two floodlight cams I'd say they're not flakey at all, in fact they are rock solid.

A bit of advice on the installation - the earth wire is a bit of a pig to wire. On the second floodlight cam I used a small run of 3 core, wired it before installation, fed the wire through the floodlight cam bracket and then into the junction box - much easier than trying to wire the earth wire on a ladder.

This should be smoking hot but it's premium product syndrome again. Shame people aren't voting on the deal

Can’t stand ring products.
so, so flaky
Having used several Ring products. I’d say that most problems people experience are directly attributable to their Wi-fi strength.

So your paying 200 quid for a 20 quid security light with a 30 quid cctv camera ?

This lot arent owned by Apple by any chance are they?
If there are people who are willing to pay this kind of money for a product and are happy with the results, then who cares. I assume all the negative comments are from people who drive the cheapest car out there, as they clearly won't spend any more than they have to.

Anything you recommend instead ? Cheers
Hot from me, I own one too.

This is the cheapest it been since last November, it’s the same price at Robert Dyas and John Lewis too.

No doubt some bell end will be along soon to tell everyone that a cctv is better and cheaper, but it won’t actually compare with this product at all. It certainly won’t have cloud storage, two way audio, a siren or floodlights.

Of course he can't!
My issues with Ring devices are plentiful. Three ring v1, a v2 and a pro.

I can can tell you none of the issues were anything related to WiFi. Battery, dead hardware, faulty mics, notification failures (debugged and proven to be an issue server side) .. I could go on.

I use enterprise grade mesh WiFi with a 660mb internet connection.

Trust me, they’re shite.
And the award to the unluckiest ring customer goes to....
For those that have this, does it come with a usb power lead so I could mount it about the garage and then feed the wire through the garage roof and plug it in inside the garage into mains?

No USB mate as it's designed to be wired into an existing security light supply. To be honest you could just run some twin and earth from the floodlight cam to the mains plug though if you can't wire it into your lighting ring.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
Sounds like what you suggest will be the way to go for me as where I want to put it there is no existing security light

No problem - also have a look at the spotlight cam - it's essentially the floodlight cam but less powerful lights but comes with a reasonable length of cable terminated with a plug. The OP has posted a cracking deal though so at this price the floodlight cam would be a better option unless the spotlight cam is reduced on amazon too

Robert Dyas currently have this same light on sale for the same price...but it you have an account with lloyds then you can get a further 10-12% cashback too :-)
