Won’t work on bt smart hub 2 because you can’t split the wifi 2.4 and 5ghz

I assume it's still broadcasting both though? It'll just connect to whichever one it can see which will be the 2.4ghz

But you could turn off the 5ghz so it connects on 2.4ghz first, then turn the 5ghz band back on. Had to do that with my yi cameras in the last house. Now I have an SSID for each band.

Are you sure that you can't disable 5ghz briefly?

    Sorry, yes you can.
With my router I disabled 2.4 GHz as my smartphone kept on jumping between the two and consequently loosing connection non stop(this actually stopped an issue which lot of Samsung note 10+ users have with their WiFi). With older routers the 2.5 and 5 were separate channels and one could rename them.

What’s the difference between these two versions of indoor camera. I bought from two different retailers and packaging size is different.

Have 2 of these bought at different times at £49.99. It works and app is easy to use. Unlike the 2 other cheap Chinese cameras I had bought on Amazon that do not connect to the wifi so lost money on that.

    Have a Virgin router btw.

Ring Protect Basic covers one Ring Video Doorbell or Security Camera for only £2.50/month or £24.99/year. It records all the videos captured by your Ring device and saves them to your account. You can then review all your videos at your convenience, download to save them for later and share them with friends, family and neighbours. Videos are stored for up to 30 days.

Not exactly. Eufy also has cloud subscription like Ring which costs almost similar to Ring. If you are saving videos locally you have risk of thief destroying the evidence itself. With Ring all videos are recorded in cloud , there is no local recording and they are safe in cloud. Also if you are recording data locally then you have few responsibilities how the data is handled , sties and destroyed, especially if you are recording public spaces or footpath…..

Eufy has free option for notifications etc. Local storage is fine for most people.

Decent cam this. I have it set up to only record or allow live view when the alarm is armed in away mode. Can keep an eye on the dog.

Yes, but at night/dark you'd struggle unless you turn off the IR lights. I would go for Eufy as it's subscription free for notifications etc and no ongoing costs (unless you choose to upgrade to cloud storage)
