Open one end isn't a bad thing as I use that to do the first turn and not put too much force on the ratchet. However, as this has different sizes on each end you've got the equivalent of 12 spanners here.

Yes they are. Excellent value for money.
I read somewhere that many of Lidl's no-brand/own brand are actually German made

They've been sold at Lidl's several times over past few years.
It's their turn again

The socket set I bought for £16 or so is magnificent.
It was so good I did some detective work and I found they were made by a factory in Germany. NOT China. The company name I can't recall. But German it was
Also at the same time read their "Powerfix" I think the name is are mainly German made too

I've got some from one of the previous times they have been on offer.

They're okay, build quality is average. The main issue is that the 'drop' on them isn't useful for jobs where you need it, due to the large connecting section. They make them a bit easier to hold for some tasks, but other than that, there isn't much point.

You'll commonly need ring spanners for jobs like this: http://s385.photobucket.com/user/tkaald/media/DSC03254.jpg.html
These can't help in these situations

For the price, they're fine - just be aware that the offset is largely pointless for jobs.

I also got these when sold previously. Quality is good, I have had the opportunity to use them on numerous jobs on the cars this year.

I have been using a set of lidl spanners for 6 years and they are solid.
