Speak to visitors

Ring Spotlight Cam lets you speak to visitors, or anyone on your property from your smartphone, tablet, or PC. Just download the Ring smartphone app for iOS or Android to be able to do so. You can also warn off intruders on your property with a 110-decibel alarm.

As good as this camera is, the on going subscription fees put me off. Worth considerkng other options such as the Amazon XT2 - much better overall.

£2.50 a mth if you would like 30 day history of your recordings.
I was going to get the Ring stick up cam. I wanted the battery one but apparently it only lasts like, 10 days?
Wanted one of these for a while but just read a review on curry’s saying that the plug isn’t detachable so you have to have a power outlet where you need to install it? Daft
These are great cameras, I have two and I'm really impressed.

While I realise not everyone would, I just cut my moulded plug off.
If the device ever needs replacing, I can change the device, but keep my original cable.

Really? Do you get much detection though where your camera is?

Picks up everything when people walk up
Drive or a car turns up, charged to 100% when received been up since & app showing 74%. Can’t complain really. I set the motion area works a treat & left at moderate detection which is default.

To be fair its worth it for the promise of them replacing it if someone decides to nick it.

I was going to get a ring camera to go with the doorbell. Unfortunately the £2.50 a month or £24.99 a year only allows monitoring of one device. If you want more than one, it shoots up to £8 per month or £80 per year. I know you don't have to pay this but they are a bit pointless without recording.
Heat added

For the same price you can have the Floodlight without a subscription...I picked two of these up when they were £129 on black Friday. They are at least equivalent to my Ring Floodlight without having to have a subscription.

I voted hot btw...because this is cheap for the Ring probably...just I wanted to change to a Google Home system and Ring isn't compatible.

2 days cloud storage isn't very good, especially if you've been on holiday. I have the ring one and having 30 days storage is good, even if it does cost £20 a year.

Can I just ask, how long does it record once motions are detected? I have the ring door bell and that records for 30 secs.
Thanks

For anyone interested, Costco currently have a twin pack of the battery powered version of this at £197 inclusive of VAT working out to just under £100 per unit.

The offer is on until the 05/01/20 and was in store at the Birmingham branch yesterday.
This one is not as waterproof as the Stick Up Cam according to specs.
AO is selling 2 for £250
Great camera! I have this along a couple of others, pay £8 a month for the recording and improved warranty that covers theft, had the odd issue and ring have been great with resolving and sent a new camera out next day!

Highly recommend for the price point! Just love the fact it has built in lights and siren! Have some heat!
Costco is the winner ..pretty sure under £200 for 2 sadly not a member 😩😩

Also not as waterproof according to many reviews too. I'd definitely go for the Stick Up over this.

The subscription for the Ring definately seems cheaper than the Swann if that's what is required...especially if you have multiple cameras it's only £80 for the annual!

Having said that without a subscription the Ring offers no video saving at all so 2days free cloud/7days local is pretty good if you dont get the subscription! If I was on holiday I would probably be checking home camera every other day at least to see what had happened
