Could be worse. My wife told me I answer my own questions while asleep. And in her opinion the answers are better than when I'm awake😁

will this connect to a ring alarm and also act as a pir?

That’s a very interesting qn, I would have thought so as that’s the whole point of their ‘RING OF SECURITY’ slogan.

As far as i’m aware, they don’t ring cameras and alarms are currently separate, this may be in the development pipeline, but HRD for the ring pro doorbell is 6 months+ over due.
These will not work as PIR for the ring alarm
The spec says these are waterproof, so I am assuming that they will be fine for outdoors, say under a porch roof etc?
Do I need an subscription to watch the past videos

Yep, these are for indoor and outdoor use.
why are there sooooo many Ring deals on here at the moment? I mean there are loads (no disrespect to you Mr Switch).

Is there new stuff inbound or are Amazon flooding the market with cheaper prices as some of their own staff are saying Ring should be shutdown and their are loads of privacy warnings in the news with these products?

Why Ring Alarm PIR would be better than Ring Security Camera having motion detection?

dont understand your question. The RING alarm system does not allow you to use a ring stick up camera as a PIR.
I won't be sticking this up my ring. cold.
Battery powered one is same price £69.
Look to be the same price on amazon now as well
Anyone know cable length please?

Unfortunately there's a lack of interoperability between the cameras and alarm at this stage. You can control them all through the same app and set the cameras to start recording of the alarm is activated but that is it about it. A 'modes' function is being slowly rolled out (a few already have it) that will improve things eg it can be set to turn all your cameras off when you have your alarm set to off, only the external ones on when you're home and have them all on when you're away. It's a very basic feature that I'm really suprised wasn't there from the off and is taking ages to roll out.
Can you connect and record on a nvr and/or NAS device ?
Stick up ring cam? I’m good thanks!
I'm gathering the battery one, you can obviously plug into mains too so you will have added benefit of battery backup if power failure or wire is cut.

Answered my own question.

The Ring Cam Plug-In is powered by an AC adapter that plugs into a standard power outlet, though you can purchase a Quick-Release Battery Pack separately. The Ring Stick Up Cam Battery is powered by Quick Release Battery Packs and cannot be used while the Battery Pack recharges, though you can purchase an Indoor/Outdoor Power adapter or Solar Panel separately. If you want to keep the Battery model online during the 5-10 hours it takes a Battery Pack to recharge, you'll have to buy a second Quick Release Battery Pack.
