I got this with the Amazon deal with a free echo dot.
Sod trying to fit it with the right transformer, resistor, diode, voltage, with and without mechanical or or digital chime, it's as clear as mud! Wish I'd stuck to a ##### door knocker!

Avoid currys - worst company in the world

needing to return an item for refund or exchange? expect to make multiple lengthy calls and a delayed refund running into weeks

Currys / Carphone / PCWorld - AVOID!

Or just visit a store and get your refund or exchange on the spot.

Also in the case of eBay which this post is clearly about you raise your return through the eBay case centre like anyone else and most likely have the added protection of PayPal.
Good price by the way
I got the dot deal. Struggled with my old bell so called ring. He said my old bell was so old it was incompatible with ring so he sent me out a free chime !! Bonus!!

So true last item I bought was a 55inch tv that when delivered lasted 3 days.... Went to curry's they said contact Sony for repair... 3 days old that's not happening.... Me and my brother boxed it took it back and after about an hour walking round the shop telling everyone not to by I got an exchange.... Would not buy a plug off them... Abysmal customer service...

Connecting it to a Byron 776 mechanical couldn’t be easier as it has a built in transformer. Failing that there are multiple mains powered transformers you can buy that also work.

It really couldn’t be more of a doddle

Not quite, the byron Is 8 volts, you need 16 to 24 volts and a minimum 10av to have enough power to make this work. You try finding a cheap one.
Still need a resistor in the circuit to stop a surge when the doorbell is rung if not using a bell , then the diode needs to be the right direction, then if you buy a mains adaptor you've got a run of wire from a plug, it's definitely not a doddle.

That’s only for the Ring Pro. The Ring V1 (this deal) and V2 uses lower voltage, 8-24 volts which makes the Byron 776 perfect.

My Ring V1 has been hardwired to a Byron 776 for 4 years now with no issues whatsoever. No resistors, diodes or battery charging necessary.

Awesome, glad you found a way to make it work I couldn't find any clear guidance for wiring ring in UK.
There are many cheap deals on ebay for Ring doorbell but they should be avoided even if they save quite a lot of money. Reason is Ring does not cover warranty for third party seller and will also not replace in case of lost. So theft protection itself a big reason to buy from main sellers
