People are so determined to bring everyone else down on here.

Every single industry will follow the subscription model eventually!

Cars? Lease deals.
Music? Spotify/Apple Music etc.
Telly? Netflix/Amazon Prime
Printers? Cheap machine, repeat ink

It’s almost as if, in this strange world, business want to make money off people on a long term sustainable basis rather than one off purchases which would be kept or sold on to another punter.

And to stop some of the rubbish being spouted, there’s hardly a delay on mine, it’s £25 a year for Christ’s sake, the camera is perfectly clear as if the microphone and speaker, it’s come in really handy, I don’t have a chime as I (a) always have my phone within hearing distance and (b) my living room is close to my front door and I can hear the unit itself chiming, although I could appreciate others may benefit from that.

See if you don’t want a Ring Doorbell? Just keep walking, don’t try and dissuade others on your own misconceptions.

OP it’s a brilliant deal, I got mine for 109 and it has been worth every penny. I’ve actually been suffering with a knee condition at times this year so it’s come in really handy to save me getting up to answer the door to charity muggers and stuff

Innit, I never knew with these things (nest cam included, canary) you had to pay a monthly fee to store/use the video service, rediculous.
Google will give me unlimited photo storage for Google Photos, but charge me for nest cam videos. We’re going backwards I’m telling ya

Hello burglar , just confirming I'm not actually at home when you ring the doorbell
I was reading there is a delay of up to 10 seconds from the bell being pressed to being notified via the app. Can anyone confirm if this is the case?
Apologies if a stupid question, but there is an argos bundle with this and a ring chime at £139. Does this mean without a ring chime supplied, you cannot hear someone at the door? Notified on your phone? In other words do you basically need the ring chime as well. Thanks.

You will always get a notification on your phone. You don't need the chime but it is handy if you don't have your phone with you and you will hear if someone is at the door. You can set the chime to notify you if there is movement also.

It depends on the strength of the WiFi connection to the device.
This is the 720p version
Considering how many of us do our purchasing online, I did consider this awile back to protect packages. No matter what you put on the delivery instructions it tends to be ignored.

Thankfully moved since then, neighbours around here are quite nice and honest. Not a fan of subscription models.
