I'd rather pay 6p to avoid poundland

It doesn't say if it is Cat5e so you may not be able to get gigabit transfer speeds using it, fine for broadband use or for older PCs that don't have gigabit networking but I'd spend a bit more and get a cat 5e cable if it were me.

Unlikely Screwfix will be selling non Cat5e cable ...

A lot of their other cables state they are Cat5e, that's what made me think these may not be.

With some of the other cables in different lengths but with otherwise identical product pages (i.e. don't necessarily state CAT5e), the Cat5e label can be made out in the photo. Would be very surprised if these ones aren't as well.

That's the "molded rubber protection" around the cable and the plug ... otherwise, the cable goes straight into RJ-45 (e.g. exactly like if it was manually crimped). The reason ... well, various reasons - price, or when you're short of space and/or you need to plug/unplug them often (it's hard to do it when you have a big switch with many holes as booted cables are wider).

Cat 6 or 5e? Full Copper or CCA?

Just what i was looking for, have two network points in a corner where I am about to install some wardrobes. So wanted to plug in some long network cables and put them on top of the wardrobe incase I ever needed network cables in this room. Thanks, Heat added!

Im hoping they will be Cat5e, collecting tomorrow so will post an update.

I picked up the other (pack) of patch leads and returned them instantly - they were VERY poor quality cat5 (not E).

BTW, the reason for the booting is that it prevents snagging (on other cables, walls, equipment) when pulling cables.

how are you guys getting free delivery??

Collecting in store for free, delivery isn't free.
These are a different brand to the other deal at the minute, hopefully better quality.

Apparently the wrapper is made out of whale oil as well!
