Last time the ThawBoard got panned because it aims to get your frozen chicken up to room temperature where it'll rapidly become unsafe to eat. Compared to putting it in the fridge which takes longer but ultimately will keep your chicken safe to eat, it's a very strange product.

Thanks! Just ordered , that's another Christmas gift bought.

I voted HOT but have to say that £99 delivery to NI is rediculous. It used to be the same as the rest of the UK.

Don't know why this is getting the cold votes, it's a great deal at 3 for 2, but with a fiver extra off it's amazing. Three 35L boxes for under £23 is great. I think the cold votes are coming from the people who buy the cheap boxes that break easy, which is a false economy. Granted they aren't exactly cheap boxes, but they are strong and can take some abuse. I use them for -- storing coffee sachets and teaspoons etc when camping. -- for tablets like paracetamol or ibuprofen which otherwise end up dotted around the house. -- storing batteries in

I would say similar, I'd be happy to pay ~£5 for them I guess? It's more of the lid mechanism which breaks easily rather than the material of the box.

“I would suggest to get the squared corner ones as they are stronger, but if you are carrying volume items rounded corner ones can be cheaper option” How strong are the nestable ones? They look like they’re made from thin plastic like the cheap ones you can get from a local store

Ok, I am super confused on the cold votes... (skeptical) I don't mind per say, especially if there are new products or better ways of storage, but please share..?

Got drawn in by the heat too, bought today. Lightweight, a little short for my liking. Struggled to get through a carrot lengthways - where my blunt basic heavyweight doesn't. Did okay with greens. I did not enjoy cutting with this. Bad feeling plastic handle, that is also a bit short. Might suit little hands. Should not have bothered. Has made me fall back in love with my other three, one bought cheaply from the co-op 20 years back. I had a global, it fell off the counter and broke in half on the floor.

Do i sharpen this with a steel or it never needs sharpening, it's that good?

I just bought a KAI Wasabi knife and it's pretty good for £30..

Can't agree more. Also most people think you are more likely to cut yourself if the knife is sharp. The truth is you are more likely to cut yourself if the blade is blunt.

Bought one. Thanks!

No, only the main base connects to telephone socket, the other handset is only mains powered.

Can these work separately? I am thinking of keeping one for myself, other to gift.

Arrived today. Thanks OP for the heads up. Looks like quite a reasonable piece of kit for £25. A lot of the other makes at this price are either lower grade and have no answer phone.

Mine arrived today and it's pretty much a bargain. Already done a few jobs I'd previously added to my 'when it's time to get the handyperson in at £25/hour' list ...

Whats the tourque?

My answer would be no as it has no twistable selection on the back of the chuck.

Decent price that so bagged the version with all the tools rather than the two batteries as I'll only ever drill odd bits and bobs, same price. Did TopCashBack too for a weeny bit extra ... we'll see if they pay out.

No band 20 and not an Apple product..... Cold :)

Its reversible...

Well Mr and Mrs elf are the right way right way round for me and my misses, but what if you sleep opposite sides? Do they do one the other way round? Never really thought about it before, maybe it's most common (in the UK), for the man to be in the 'driving seat'. Quick survey - state if you are M or F and which side you sleep on, Go.

Happy Christmas! Oh wait ...... it's over 3 months off.

Humble brag of the week

I have something similar. Big, wet leaves block it up in no time and it's a big awkward lump to drag around; lead is a nuisance too, as some have said. It's absolutely hopeless in 'blow' mode too. I've gone for a battery leaf blower which is great (WORX one on a recent offer). Picking the leaves up isn't such a big job once they're all in a pile in a place of your choosing.

Same here. Let me know if you find one! 😁

You must be residing in Windsor castle, I'd imagine?

I’ve got the Bosch equivalent of this but with a big garden the cord drives me CRAZY! Can anyone recommend a cordless one of these? 10M is pathetic when it’s over 40 from one end of the garden to the other!!

I got one and it was no good on old hard brick. It only tickled the surfaces after 10 minutes.. I borrow a SDS hammer drill.

I have had this drill for about 6 years and it’s been brilliant. Used it to fit my own windows and doors and worked a treat. Very powerful, I agree that SDS are more powerful but this drill is more scurate than SDS. Worth having both

Any SDS drill will beat a corded or cordless drill in the vast majority of cases but then again it all depends on size and depth of what you intend to drill. If you want a drill purely for brick drilling then i would suggest SDS, the downside being is they can crack brick and punch rather large holes if your not careful especially if drilling from one side of a wall to the other. This drill will be fine for masonry, timber and steel, it’ll probably be ok for brick too to a point but thats providing you use decent drill bits as included or equivalent, also its likely to take longer and you’ll need to put more weight behind the drill ( compared to SDS )

Anyone have first hand experience on what this is like drilling through brickwork? Gotta go through some tough as fudge bricks and concrete for a job that i've been putting off for a while was told a SDS Drill (Or SDS Hammer Drill) would be better than a normal hammer drill.

Please note that these phones are analogue technology and not digital. So reception is generally poor. Also security may be an issue. Just my tuppence worth.

Get ready for next summer? BBQs can be used all year round. I'm gonna be cooking Xmas dinner on ours.

I bought this at the start of summer for £75 the hinge that raises the grill is poorly welded and many many people had it break on its first use. If you know a welder get this done correctly. Other than that its a great grill. Tip line the tray with foil so the used coals can just be wrapped up and binned.

BT Flex 600 powerline WiFi extender kit £35 Robert Dyas in store
LocalLocalFound 1st SepFound 1st Sep
As per title. Official Robert Dyas current price £40. Example in photo was seen in Woodley, Berks branch. Just corrected the link but not sure if the linked item is quite identica… Read more

Im thinking the Flex 600 should be a superior solution to a typical wifi extender (£27) like this: because it should be possible to set the Flex up to use a different channel than your main wifi. I wasn't thinking of it as an alternative to a point to point powerline extender which is a bit inflexible. Standard wifi extenders that don't include a powerline sender are likelier to interfere with the performance of your main wfi, or confuse your wireless printer (both happened to me).

But that's wired only. OP has posted the WiFi and wired versions of the BT kit. Which are always more money than the wired only versions. Yes it's only 600mbs. But your never going to need more than that if you are going to be using. It for streaming HD content or extending your WiFi Shame it's in store only. I've been waiting for a price drop on these for ages

Amazon has been selling tplink av1000 for similar price . Better buy Av2000 than this av600.
