I got this and it works a treat you just throw in ice cubes from your freezer. No need for stockpiling salt etc and makes an awesome slushy or Mojito: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Electric-Ice-Crusher-Shaver-Slushie-Machine-Snow-Cone-Smoothies-Cocktails-Black/222912024441?hash=item33e6978f79:g:wTsAAOSwxxVaxg9d

TheFoodie

I too had issues with it freezing up and jamming. Don't waste your money. The real machines cost thousands for a reason.

andybriggs03

Just whack loads of ice in a blender oh yes

Fergout

Don't have problems with mine. Makes best slush for the home. You do have to get the right amount of ice and salt

Rich069

Agree, waste of money. Slush either gets stuck and doesnt pour, or doesnt even get slushy.

North London. I started to use the filters to see the diference. Something on the taste, but the most important difference is the cleaning and to don't see the limescale, i dont want to give extra work to my kidneys.

SmartX

Just read the article on the properties of charcoal on the interweb. That's what inside those filters, apparently.

thomasleep

I wonder where you live that a kettle needs limescale removed every 4 days. Not sure just how different any boiled water could taste. Anyway if you are happy, good for you.

Pokora

Well, works for me. I dont have to clean the limescale from the kettle every 4 days and the taste is better. For healthy improvements, i use mineral water.

speculatrix

Agreed. Here in Cambridge the water really smells of chlorine when you run the tap, and the water is really hard. When you filter the water, tea tastes better and you don't get a layer of scum. In fact, when I see a little bit of scum of the top of a cup of tea I know it's time to change the filter!

Bought this a few months ago with 2 batteries for £49.99

MrMatt991

I have a 10.8v (hammer) drill for small jobs and screwdriving. Much more portable than either, and actually still has a good variable speed control and plenty of torque for all but the most ridiculous screwdriving. I don't see the point of getting a non-hammer action drill when the hammer ones are barely a pound dearer, barely 100g heavier, and barely 10mm larger.

scott2c

Just paid this amount for a higher capacity replacement battery and charger

joseph00334

This one or the Aldi one for 49.99?? Thanks

cheesemane

Thanks for the very useful feedback. I do have a (very) heavy duty corded SDS hammer drill which I use for pretty much anything masonry related, but it does weigh an absolute ton. I guess it would still be handy to have a smaller hammer drill that can be picked up without a weight lifting back support, especially for use on ladders etc...

Seems a bit of a clart on. Where do you get the minerals from, will soil do?

BargainScavenger

It removes 99.9 percent of the dirty ingredients. You can then add minerals back into it. Where as brita removes just some of the chloride. That's all. Water taste does not change either.

Boiling tap here too. Love it. Ours does (near) boiling water or filtered cold water. Have it installed with its own mini-sink next to the teapot and coffee machine. Tea (Twinings Assam loose leaf) tastes great, in spite of it being not-quite-boiling. Did cost a small fortune, mind, so no relevance at all to this thread. I see some unimaginative plonker posting "cool story, bro" any second.

ro53ben

Ours is a Quooker tap - you'll see clear details on their website and YouTube. We have both a normal tap and the boiling tap on the same sink, the boiling tap has a safety mechanism which requires you to push down and twist. Really no concerns about burns/scalding, the water is intentionally aerated to help reduce damage should the worst happen.

itchyone

How do they work is the instant boiling water activated with a button or something? Would hate to get first degree burns. Contemplating their practicality for when we move home.

poseidonxxx

How ironic that I've added cold to a kettle (embarrassed)

Great machine use it every day.... but will need a milk frother for the best taste...

mickanddot

Top tip- warm cup in microwave first and its delicious 😋- I’ve got machine with milk frother attached and amazon have 36 pods for£6.75 at the minute so fab - very happy with mine:)

Cremoso99

Me neither, I would get the original ones anyway, they're on offer at Tesco and Asda quite often and have long Best Before dates.

Cremoso99

Espressos aren't meant to be boiling hot. Don't get an espresso machine if that's what you want. I have this machine, the downsides are that it is quite slow and you have to refill it quite often. Pods are nice though I would say better than Nespresso.

therealclaireh

I thought that was for Nespresso and Dolce Gusto only never seen Lavazza compatible ones in there

You can get the V10 animal for only £60 more

CloudHeaven

I’m in the market for a new cordless, have the V6 absolute but really want the V10. However I’ve had to vote cold as this is the new price for the V8 absolute, it’s the same price everywhere give or take a tenner and even Dyson theselves sell it for £350. Leeks have it for £339 and they often have discount codes, John Lewis give a 2yr warranty for £349 so this is actually a cold deal sorry OP :(

Karakova1987

Thanks for explaining that delboyd, I kind of just assumed I did something wrong in posting it somehow, used a wrong link or something! Maybe someone actually looking for a Dyson can at least benefit from the deal, cold or not :P

delboyd

Absolutely fantastic price, but you'll get voted cold because people hate paying the extra for quality products. I guess we can expect these prices to drop with the V10 out in the wild.

stuellis

Having bought the Vax Blade 32v Ultra a few weeks ago for about £150 less than this I seen no reason to pay the ridiculous Dyson prices. This is however a deal if you really want this model.

shame closest is 15miles away >.<

quanghuy2612

True enough. Wera is much more expensive than other brands

rubberyduck

I have both and wera are superior, but generally more expensive.

quanghuy2612

Thanks for your advice. Makita power tools are excellent so I think their bit set might be the same. I love my Wera set as well

horsey

I've got a small Makita bit set, it's nothing special I've also got several £5 chinese sets just like this and I use them all the time - simply because they are all over the house and less hassle than fetching my proper tool kit. Consider doing the same but replacing PZ1 and PZ2 with bits from Dewalt or Milwaukee, you probably won't use the other bits enough to start damaging them.

Mechtup

Same price in Rymans at the moment for those who missed this :)
