Yep 4% Quidco available:thumbsup:

Just checked on quidco and can't see comet - just their accessories store which is different.

Could not quid co but did get 1.5% cashback from UKrewards and the 15% discount code. Fantastic price. Good find.

The 15% voucher (15DAB) wont work for me - anyone know why ?

Which says....

Our testers thought it might suit those who are partially sighted because the display is larger than most, and the controls are well placed and in learnable locations. It can receive DAB and FM. But it is lacking in advanced features – there’s no pause/rewind or Electronic Programme Guide, you re limited to just 5 presets, and there are no alarm features either. It can operate on mains power, as well as 4 D size batteries, and if you want to use it on the go you’ll get 42 hours when listening to FM and 53 when listening to DAB. This Roberts has low power consumption both when on and in standby (4 watts when in use, and 2 watts when on standby). If you’re looking for a portable model it’s on the heavy side and we found the handle a little uncomfortable. There is a headphones socket but it s not possible to connect this Roberts to external speaker or a hi-fi system.Pros: Good sound quality, easy to use, cheap, headphone socket, low energy consumptionCons: Not very stylish, no advanced features

Its just a pity there is no more Comet on Quidco.

]The cheapest elsewhere is £50

CAUSE........its DAB15............ not 15DAB!!!!!!

No quidco ........But Topcashback does 4% cashback. Brilliant DAB radio , i already got this radio, now i'm getting another !!!!! >>>>>>>>>>> HOT !!!!

Roberts may not be a well known make to everyone, but they are a very good company (since 1932). My dad used to collect radios and I still have one of his favorites which is an early transistor and still functions perfectly.

Definitely a hot product at this price & voted accordingly.
(I do also own a DAB radio of another brand and the features of DAB are brilliant) :geek:

Thanks for this - have just ordered it for my parents for xmas.
Got the 4% cashback from Topcashback as well - Im a very happy shopper!!!

Roberts ain't merely good, they are the Rolls Royce of radios. Hot one

"the controls are well placed and in learnable locations"
I like that.

Does anyone understand this ?

"If you’re looking for a portable model it’s on the heavy side and we found the handle a little uncomfortable. There is a headphones socket but it s not possible to connect this Roberts to external speaker or a hi-fi system"

Surely, if headphones can be connected some basic laptop type speakers could also be connected ??

Ditto this posting. It's a WHICH? Best Buy, so at this price is a fab find. Heat and Rep added.

Straight onto the OH to get this for me for Christmas.

Discount also applies if you opt for collect from shop, just enter voucher code, get your reservation number after selecting the store of your choice (most seems to have them in stock at the moment) then head on down like I did today and pay £29.74  hot

Whoose idea was it to design all DAB radios to look like something from Star Trek the original series. How about a nice modern sleek looking thing rather than **** cra ****

I've also go the Gemini 59 which gets the thumbs down from Which but I can't understand why.
They **** off the dismal sound but it's a much smaller radio than the 46 so is bound to have a smaller speaker and consequently inferior sound.
For my money the 59 sound is as good as my Sony worldband receiver which cost £150
20 years ago. Anyone else disagree with Which.
Now trying to decide whether I should also get the 46 - seems an irrestible bargain that that price!

Great deal

Been looking for one of these as a Xmas pressie, picking it up later.

Sounds a bit weird.
Don't see why you couldn't connect to laptop type speakers.

As for connecting to hi fi etc, couldn't anyone just buy the appropriate cable from somewhere (e.g Dealextreme)?

Sweet deal! Which best buy at well under half price, and a problem pressie sorted as well. Thanks, have some heat and rep OP. Just hope the Top Cashback discount comes through for another 4%, but on Collect at Store, where you pay at the till, I'll be surprised. Either way a great deal from Comet.

I missed the discount code on collect from store - however when I pointed this out to a member of staff they processed the discount for me. Hubby is thrilled with the radio - I will not have to listen to his poorly tuned old tranny anymore!

Picked mine up only today, an early B'day pressie for myself, just couldn't wait!! Very impressed with it can listen to 'Absolute Radio' without the interference. It surpassed my expectations in terms of quality of sound, ease of use, really is brilliant, only problem is may need to get another one for the bathroom now, Chrismas pressie!! :gift:

went to store to pick up today - chocolate teapot staff but got it in the end. Heat and rep thanks

Thanks OP, picked one up today :-)

Picked one of these up today, a real bargin for £29.74

thanks sim66:thumbsup:

What Hi-Fi give this a poor review. Is the sound quality really that bad?

For
Sturdy and solid; long battery life

Over-enthusiastic treble makes listening a pain
The sturdy RD46 seems at first glance the ideal away-day companion. Turn it on and you’ll be further convinced: it’s simple to set up, the display is big and bright, and it tunes solidly. What’s more, thanks to Roberts Radio’s green efforts, the RD46 gives up to 80 hours’ use on a single load of four hefty LR20/D-cell batteries, as well as coming with its own mains adapter.
All of which makes the sound of the Roberts disappointing; there’s too much clamour and fizz at the top end. In other respects, the RD46 is clean and inoffensive, but the unruly treble scuppers its chances of glory.

Make you wonder!
Anyway I'm off to ge me one in any case. Can't resist at this price. Thanks OP heat & rep added.

Got mine delivered early this morning, after ordering Fri night from Comet online.
Heat and Rep to the OP. Thanks.

Initial thoughts are brilliant. A lot lighter and smaller, than I thought.

Quick and easy instruction booklet. Out of box to listening, no more than 10 mins.
Plugged into mains put it by window for initial auto-tuning, fearing I was going to get nothing (live in a poor reception area).

Impressed to see it 'auto-tuned' in about 30 secs.
Oh dear. Can't be many stations, I thought.
But no, they're all there - BBC1-7, Talksport, XFM, a few Classic Golds, etc
An impressive 20-30 in total and I live in Eastbourne, on the coast, where TV and radio reception isn't great in general.
I have also borrowed a couple of other portable DABs before, to see what reception was like with varying results.

Sound is crystal clear and quite deep for such a small box.
Weighs a little more than a bag of sugar.
5 easy Pre-sets, good volume knob, easy read display with choice of time, scrolling text etc.

Still to move it further into the house and to try the batteries, but an excellent start.

Chuffed to bits and a bargain at around £30.
Fully recommended.

Picked mine up today.
It looks very nice.
Sound quality is good, and it has a tone control to adjust it how you want it.
Scanned all the local stations no problem.

Very pleased with it.

Ordered 2 on line yesterday for me and my mum. Collected today and really pleased as it is fab! I cannot normally get a good radio reception on my stereo - but this is really easy to set up and use. Heat added - however, went back on the web site tonight to order one for my aunt and the code is not working so I am assuming it has expired :?

The discount code has expired, so the Radio is now £34.95

Is now out of stock, wonder if they will get anymore in, I have one reserved until 6pm today, so need to get a move on.
