Listed as £19.95 but I used the available £5 promo voucher.

I took a punt purely as an ethernet Spotify Connect device. Other wifi devices including Chromecast audio have proved frustrating with disconnections and drop outs.

Internet radio worked great too via the app though it was a brief test.

If this had bluetooth I'd be getting it, but it doesn't appear to. I initially had hopes this would do what I needed and allow me to passthrough audio from my desktop to my wired speakers, then have a switch to allow a bluetooth connection from my iPhone to use the same connected speakers for streaming music. However from what I can tell you can't play audio directly from an iOS device to this so won't do what I'd hoped for

It says "Bluetooth" in the title...

It does, but then mentions nothing else about it from what I can see elsewhere. I even read the entire manual and that doesn't imply you can use it via bluetooth either: aeldownloads.com/rob…pdf

Very true. I've ordered one - if it just acts as an analogue to optical converter, that's going to make it worth the money.
Page 21 of the manual sort of implies it can be done from iOS via "Digital Media Renderer" mode. Ahh well I may order and if not then I will return. If it does I'll be happy as was looking for something with passthrough too which would do this.

just checked packaging and manual, no mention of bluetooth. also nothing coming up as a bluetooth device when I scan from my phone. It does have a line in however so you could add a bluetooth receiver, assuming you're limited to one input on your speaker/amp.

If you have an iphone, can you try going to the music app, picking any song then click the cast button at the bottom and see if it finds it? Would be very helpful!

definitely falls under that category!
I am still trying to understand what this actually does, no bluetooth but line in, surely any audio system would have that any way

It basically just adds internet radio and network streaming capacity to a hifi system that doesn't have it. Connect the ethernet to this and then the line out or optical out to your hifi and off you go.

Being Roberts I expect it's being pitched as a radio tuner upgrade or add on. It's reliance on the Undok app seems to be a sticking point for a lot of people though.

I merely wanted spotify connect with ethernet so i'm pretty pleased

Hmm ok. Thanks for checking. I gambled and ordered before your comment and apparently its already been dispatched. Will have a play around when it arrives but doesn't look too hopeful.
Undok is the problem. I've had this device for a few weeks and it works fine once set up correctly. However I found the terminology used in the extensive manual to be ambiguous. Once you grasp that the reference to 'your audio device' refers to this adapter then it's a bit simpler. First you connect you smartphone to the Roberts device then you are directed to connect the device to your preferred network, I couldn't get it to work with LAN so stuck with WiFi. I use it for Internet Radio - all the selections etc are done via the App which works if occasionally not exactly intuitive. Audio quality is good, I use the optical output to feed my Sony DN 860 AV receiver.

I can now play music from my Android phone on my AV receiver direct from the App. Just chose 'Source' and select the music.

Why am I a sucker for these things? Bought! 'n' HOT!
Can you use this to stream/cast music from a hard drive, using a phone as remote control?

I believe so, if the hard disk is on a machine which supports UPnP., It's described in aeldownloads.com/rob…pdf

I've bought one, Hope I'll use it more than the Chromecast Audios I bought a few years ago!

I'm having issues with mine dropping out playing internet radio - happens on both ethernet and wireless which are right next to this box.

Sounds nice when it works though - outputting optical to my Arcam Solo bar and sub.

Anyone else having dropout issues?
