A reworking of the legend of Robin Hood (Kevin Costner) telling of his adventures following his escape and return to England from the Crusades. With an indebted Moor (Morgan Freeman) by his side, Robin sets out to avenge his father's death and to save the peasants in the Shire of Nottingham from their crafty, cunning sheriff. Full of action, romance, intrigue, laughs and medieval childbirth, this film hit the bullseye at the box-office and features the record-breaking hit song '(Everything I Do) I Do It for You' performed by Bryan Adams and a stand-out pantomime performance by Alan Rickman as the evil Sheriff of Nottingham who wants to Cancel Christmas.

classic.

Worth it just to see Alan Rickman's performance! Brilliant

Heavily censored.

The cinema version was cut by 14 secs with edits made to the hand amputation, a scene of the Sheriff twisting the sword in a victim's belly, some of the wedding night assault on Marian, and the removal of 2 lines of dialogue - one of the Sheriff's cronies saying "I have never seen the breasts of a noble lady before" and the changing of Christian Slater's cry of "**** me, he made it" to "Blimey, he made it" when Robin swings onto the battlements. The 1991 & 1995 video versions lost a further 18 secs of distributor edits which completely removed any trace of the hand amputation scene, owing to complaints made to the BBFC from parents. The 2003 Widescreen release saw a few of the cuts waived though 28 secs remained edited, mainly from the hand amputation, the language and an additional edit to the climactic hanging sequence.

The 12-rated Blu-Ray is uncut.

It's an excellent film so i'd probably take the latter personally. Each to their own! Still, bargain at this price.

It's probably more than 14s. I think the actual total is somewhere over a minute.
