Would highly recommend watching the videos People Make Games did about Roblox before buying these for your children. First one's linked below.

Yeah, sane perants, don't allow your kids to play this game. Take a look at this youtubers channel who has been working to expose Roblox staff and community, Full of peadophilia, porn and in no way safe for kids anymore.

In my opinion your logic is flawed. What you're saying is like never telling your kids to go outside because there may be child predators or bad people lurking around on the streets. But you see that's very impractical advice considering we have to go outside whether we like it or not, for education, a job, seeing a doctor or going shopping. What I think you should be doing is making your child aware of the dangers that exist on the internet, therefore they are less likely to fall into these malicious situations. rather than an outright ban.

Furthermore whilst in no way am I supporting the actions committed by this person on the video, incidents like these are not the norm. There are probably hundreds of thousands of developers on this site and most of them stay out of these kind of activities.

I watched a video which encourages kids to make games and they pay them. They pay them in their currency so the money just goes back into their game.

You can turn the in game money back in to real money using a website, if you are a developer.

Let's be real for a moment, 99.9% of the games on roblox would never have made it through on any other platform. They also nearly all have the same kind of framework with just minor tweaks, there's only maybe a dozen original ideas and then all the other games are just different versions of them. It's not like the kids are actual developer standard but roblox is at least giving them a taste of the industry and who knows what it might inspire them to do next. It's this repetitive format that thechikdren playing love, that feeling that they can go into most games and instantly know how to play it. Greedy adults drive the videos like posted above but for kids it's just fun, why try to adultise that? When we were playing space invaders did it matter how much the corp behind it was making or did you not even spare it a moment thought? Let the kids have some fun and if people get rich then good for them, there's someone somewhere getting rich off almost everything we do. As for buying and spending robux.... just parent... its no different to watching how much is spent on PlayStation store etc. You don't NEED robux to play, it just makes a nice treat. My little girl has been playing for 2 years, we bought her £20 as a Christmas treat and she has still only spent about £7 worth of it because we took the time to teach her the importance of REAL money first.

You seem to be misunderstanding some points above, Roblox own team members have been arrested and charged for peadophilic actions, in one case, a developer paid hundreds of dollars for an uber, so uber would pick up and underage child and bring her hundreds of miles to the developers house. He of course found this child via Roblox game and discord.

In other issues, people are circumventing and exploiting things to be able to uplaod disgusting images, porn and illegal content on the skins which you can buy with those robux. The roblox team even when you report the content fail to remove it, theres also a whole range of groups dedicated to unaderage content and people, fetishes, and all sorts else.

Roblox is a dangerous place for any child at the moment, aND if you're happy subjecting your child to that, then be my guest. But you were warned.

All I'm saying is look at several videos from this user: youtube.com/@Ru…eos (edited)
