Insane In The Membrane?

Scan is selling little brother os this keyboard with free delivery and free mouse and keyboard pad for £29.99.
It's blue backlight only and no wrist rest, otherwise pretty much same keyboard with extra keys

I got this one for a little cheaper than the current price and off of ebuyer a few years ago ebay.co.uk/itm…915.
The deal you link is very, but even then, there are 30 quid mechanical keyboards off amazon but then you do get a mouse pad and the amazon keyboard at that price range are not very good. I must say i do like the multi-media keys and volume dial on the roccat. I defo wouldn't spend 30 on membrane without the mouse pad especially when it is running on USB 2 though.

Rubber dome topre switch I think, haven't tried one, but want to.

Rubber dome topre switch I think, haven't tried one, but want to.

Topre is different
Random_clicks25/04/2020 21:06

in what way?

"While Topre switches arerubber domes, they aren’tmembrane-actuated. Even then, the rubber domes that provide the resistance and feedback are much thicker and purpose-engineered when compared to your run-of-the-mill domes you find on office keyboards. They are also serviceable by swapping out individual domes if you so choose. Topre handles actuation through capacitive sensing, which is a very reliable no-contact way of sensing an electrostatic field to trip a sensor.

Topre delivers a highly-refined rubber dome typing experience without the drawbacks of the actuation mechanism (membranes) usually associated with rubber dome keyboards. If you enjoy the feel of rubber domes, Topre might be a buy-once solution for a lifetime."

Oh aye, I've seen a lot about them, if I were to buy a HHKB it'd be one with the Japanese small space bar. I already think space bars should never be so huge on ISO layout, leads to rattle and ping on many boards. Could have more keys to assign there too if it were smaller.
Or rather, there should be a variaty of boards and some should have a small space bar.

Yeah, i am on the GMMK right now and now you say it there is some rattle on the long space bar. But to be honest, it doesn't really bother me too much.

(GMMK) They look like nice keyboards, just looked them up, bit like Duckys maybe, oh wow it has hot swappable switches! How cool. Looks standard size keycaps, might consider one of these boards in future. I'm back on a generic Logitech mechanical keyboard (mx brown), it has a rattly spacebar, as you say it isn't really bad or anything. I had a cherry mx clear Poker that I sold for a good profit and the space bar on that was buttery, a satisfying whisper quiet thonk.
Think I'm after a cherry mx black keyboard. I could do without the tactile bump, not really necessary. The bump on mx clears is really pronounced and feels fun and satisfying to type on. It'd be cool if you were a writer or something because it feels like you're actually doing something when typing.
Typing on a wireless chiclet kb here and it gets the words out, that's the main thing lol.
