For comparison, the official UK price is (bizarrely) £15.04.

if I buy from other countries shops does it change anything? will I have to sign in to different account each time I play?

no only change for when you buy and then change back to UK.

I pre ordered doom and skyrim and then swapped back. Doom unlocked a few hours before the midnight launch and plays with no issues

This is the way I purchased eshop games from other regions without creating different accounts for each region ;

1. go to your nintendo account on any browser. accounts.nintendo.com/log…orm

2. Go into your account settings(top right corner).

3. Under "User Information" section click on the "Change" button.

4. Change the "Country/region" to whatever region eshop you want to buy from.

5. Now go to your switch and go to the "eshop".

6. You will need to enter your login details. (Note: It will prompt you that the region has changed and will use the language for that region and you will possibly have to log in twice)

7. Now purchase the game like you would normally do in your native country/language.

8. Once purchased you can revert the region/language back using steps 1 - 4.

So to highlight points from your post above the only thing that will change temporarily is the language/region and you may also receive news from that region until you revert it back. Also note that you need to make sure that your language is supported in the game.

I hope this was helpful.

Thanks a lot for that! Can never remember my log in detail for nintendo so I'll probably just do it on the console. Still scares me a little doing it this way, mostly cos of the language support thing..

Have you linked the account on your switch with your nintendo account? Also before purchasing the game check on the nintendo eshop to see what languages are available for that game, to be fair though whatever is on your switch's native region eshop will support that language, but if yours is uk then they all have the english language. The only ones you really want to look out for are the japanese switch games where some only support japanese language like monster hunter. Rocket League has English support so you won't have to worry about that one.

For the sake of a £, you may be better of supporting the Nintendo UK.

Just beware that it's a bit of an ugly mess on the switch in handheld mode. Docked its passable. But I reckon most will be double dipping on this game to play it handheld. The resolution is so low that it's just a complete fuzzy mess on some stadiums that can make it harder to see the ball at times. A real shame, as I love rocket league, love the switch, so seemed like the perfect combo. Hopefully they'll polish it up abit more...if the games media doesn't give it a free pass.

I read mostly positive reviews, first i've heard its a mess.

I will try it when i get home from work

Gamespot, IGN and many others have given it a good review. Yes there is talk of a dip in resolution as you would expect.

Yeah I had heard nothing but good things too before I purchased. It's still rocket league, everything's there. And the framerate is mostly stable (occasional dip still). The controls felt 'off' at first...but probably cause I'm used to playing it with a ps4 pad. After tweaking the sensitivity they feel fine now. It's just the resolution in handheld...you're prob looking at 450p so if the ball is down the other side of the pitch all you're likely to see is a blurry mess really. Add on the jaggies and cut back in details, and it's just a bit disappointing when you know more graphically taxing games impress on the switch and hit 60fps. Some stadiums are cleaner than others. But some the dip in resolution is so great that it can effect gameplay (again in handheld). Least that's what I've found.

Just tried it there.

Personally I thought it was pretty good. I did hold it pretty close to my face ( but tend to with most switch games in hand held mode )

Resolution yes is lower but no surprises there.

dont agree it’s a blurry mess but just my opinion.

overall I liked how it played. Even scored a goal ( I am rotten at rocket league )

admittedly ly I only played 2 games. So need to play more to see if I notice any pain.

i would like to see a switch only mode. Can see the Xbox / PC owners having a pretty big advantage

You can disable cross-platform play in the gameplay menu.
I think it plays pretty well on Switch but the resolution and texture filtering are abysmal in portable mode.
The biggest issue is the frame rate drop when making tight turns, it's very distracting. Still good fun and worth a buy, fingers crossed for some post-release optimisation!

I can't get used to it on Switch - I've played it on Xbox and Steam, but man, it's like my car is driving through mud or something, maybe I'm that used to it on the PC now, but having the Switch docked and playing with the pro pad it just feels "off" - and my telly isn't TOO bad for lag with other games on Switch or other consoles.

It is better on handheld, but everything is too small etc etc

Not really (IMO). If you start doing this with other stores as well (I have an American account) Should you get a new switch, or want to redownload your old games, you'll need to remember three email addresses, three passwords... it's not a massive inconvenience but for the sake of a quid I personally wont be bothering
