And I was thinking how good it would be for carrots :/

They arrive sharp so careful when unpacking. They tie the knife to some plastic and card - this is best cut with wire cutters rather than scissors
Roadmen would need sharper
For much better quality, you're better off with this Mercer, although another £2.50. amazon.co.uk/Mer…h=1

+1 - Can't go wrong with Mercer or Victorinox, for affordable, commercial-style quality.
Good find

Hmm, carbon is very low at 0.3% so not sure how they can be described as high carbon steel

The Sandvik 12C27 steel in this pair are 0.6% which is a good step up in quality steel wise, double the carbon content, able to get a lot sharper, easier to sharpen and retains sharpness for longer

Cheaper at £5.80 a knife for much better steel and longer blade, maybe gift the other knife to someone who's always used blunt knives

Doesn't even compare to the one listed on this post, the Mercer is only 3.5 inch blade. The 6 inch blade costs considerably more.

Plus the OPs carbon content is 0.4% whilst the Mercer is 0.3% so the Mercer is actually a step down in steel quality
A little worrying - once you click the Amazon link, the knife is under the sub category :
Duvet Cover Sets

I can't speak for the quality of the OP's knife, but carbon content isn't at all a reliable indicator of quality, it's simply a different factor, in different types of knife.

Thanks, I already cut myself. I bought this and the bigger one. A bit disappointed as they have no weight to them. I did previously buy a breadknife and that feels solid making for better control and cutting.

I know they say that size doesn't matter but this is a different type of knife and is significantly shorter.
