Get started on your road to becoming a rock legend on Rocksmith 2014. This new and innovative way of learning guitar utilises one of the most efficient and enjoyable ways of learning with a wealth of new play modes.

With a completely redesigned interface and all-new features, Rocksmith 2014 Edition is tailored to better teach the key elements of guitar playing, and to make learning faster and more fun than any other method.

New Features

“Riff Repeater” - lets players select any section of a song they want to play, and adjust the difficulty and speed on-the-fly.
“Master Mode” - makes playing by memory more approachable and new “Guitarcade” mini-games have been created to hone specific guitar skills.

More than 50 hit tracks including:

“Stone” by Alice In Chains
“Walk This Way” by Aerosmith
“Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door” by Bob Dylan
“The Chimera” by The Smashing Pumpkins
“Don’t Look Back In Anger” by Oasis
“Ultra Soul” by B’z, a famous pop-rock Japanese band.

Many more hits will be announced in the coming months.

do you need an adapter to use this or is audio in sufficient? cheap!!
Oos
I was very exited when I bought this when it was on a special 1 day offer on steam for £7.
You do indeed need a USB adaptor, unless you use a 'crack' which I would never use (http://www.alessandrogonella.com/2013/10/play-rocksmith-2014-without-real-tone-cable/) - for fear of rootkits, viruses, backdoors, trogens etc..

I adapted a USB adaptor I bought for £4 from Hong Kong via ebay to mimic the Rockstar Cable Adaptor.

So that now all works, but even after all that - I found the program was unusable - I cannot get past the deeply irritating guitar tuning stage even though my electric guitar passes the tuning stage ok. I then choose a track and it says the guitar is out of tune and so it refers me to tuning again and again etc..

IMO you should beware this is a dud program of which most users have huge problems with, which is why its regularly in the bargain bin.

Rather than modifying a knock off cable from Hong Kong, I use the genuine cable and it works perfectly. But you're right, it's probably the software that's at fault...

Out of stock for me :s

Exactly same experience as magoo, use the original and it will work
You have to use the genuine cable, and when you do it works brilliantly. Highly recommended, but not this version which doesnt include it.
Cables have been quite rare recently I've heard, but ubisoft/Rocksmith do a twitch stream on a Thursday night, and last week they said stock should improve from August. Just in case anyone is looking.
Looks like I got up too late , all gone now !
if I was to get this what is the cheapest guitar to get and also what else would I need?
Really would like to learn to play the guitar

Yamaha Pacifica guitars are very highly regarded beginner guitars, you can often pick then up quite cheap second hand on eBay. You can use any guitar with the game (provided it has a 1/4" jack, which most acoustics won't), you'll also need the Rocksmith cable which is usually around £25 I think.

And patience. Lots and lots of patience...!

Thank you
Absolutely not.... the hacked USB cable for a couple of quid is exactly the same Hardware as the 'Original USB cable'. People are paying massively for same hardware in a USB cable which costs a few quid elsewhere.

The problem with this program is the difficult setting up via Sound settings - original cable, hacked cable, crack or whatnot - regardless of which makes it so hard to setup properly and use.

Also my strings are 20 years old and a bit rusty which doesn't help.

My brother has used the same 'hacked' Cable and it works for him fine.
If you buy this app for £5 and then spend £29 on the original cable, its not a great bargain IMO!
