Same @ Amazon, probably price match

See, this is what annoys me about Amazon and is also why you should buy it from game.

If places like game go under then Amazon will be free to charge whatever they like as they generally tend to price match to steal away sales from bricks and mortar establishments. Do they actually have many deals of their own? Sometimes, I guess but a lot of the time it's simply price matching someone else's.

I realise game generates a fair bit of hate but occasionally they have decent deals and I think it's important that these shops survive.

I've read quite a few threads where people desire places like game go bankrupt but you have to think of the big picture. Do you really want one huge store and no other competition. If so, the future is bleak.

TL;Dr: buy from game as Amazon smells of wee.

Know what you mean but Games big problem is sending games unsealed and tatty cases which you could just get from Ebay and be better quality, past 3 orders all my games have been resealed by them and cases look like they played hockey with it

GAME have had so many chances to get their business model up-to-date.

If Amazon are left to charge what they want, you don't have to buy (at any price).

If very few buy at the inflated prices, those prices will fall.

I find that GAME's packaging is appalling & I have stopped buying from them via mail order as invariably I am annoyed at how damaged items are when they arrive due to insufficient protection.
My comment was more a generalisation of Amazon's business practise than a approval of Game itself. You're correct that they don't exactly shine when it comes to pleasing their customers, but my point was more to do with keeping actual shops around, with Game as an example (albeit perhaps a tough one to sell!).

I'm not so sure that i by the argument that very few would buy at their inflated prices and the price will fall. If there is nowhere else to purchase items from except Amazon or eBay, what choice will you have? Chinese stores with dubious safety standards and 4 week delivery times? Hardware stores for example are struggling. Shops like b&q, homebase, screwfix etc could go under in the future due to aggressive Amazon pricing. They then have you over a barrel if you require an essential part quickly to repair a leak or something.

Given the time it takes to deliver so-called Prime orders, I wouldn't be ordering anything from Amazon if I needed it in a hurry.

Also, during the first two occasions when GAME went into Administration, I also championed the need for a high street presence (I could point you to previous discussions, but I won't), but not now; well, not by GAME. As I have said above, they've had too many chances & do not seem to have learned anything.

I think you missed my point; you don't have to buy the products from GAME, Amazon, or anywhere.

Video Games & Computer software are not essential items.
Actually, I agree with you. Game itself wasn't a strong example as they have been consistently quite poor in their business model, so I don't think that I missed your point but I do think that you may have missed mine as I was not talking about video games specifically but more on Amazon's desire for dominance and a monopoly. It's not just about consoles and games.

I have probably not been as eloquent as I would like and my argument is perhaps a little flawed and clumsy when I was making my point though.
