It's 1080p for starters, the LT/NowTV is 720 only

Ebuyer is free next day delivery atm.

You can't get Netflix on the now TV box so it's not really a roku LT at all.

What are you talking about - you CAN get Netflix on the NowTV box. I think you've missed something somewhere.

I agree I didn't think it would run Netflix even through plex I haven't seen it done yet. if you have a link please share it I am looking for an excuse to buy one

How do you do that then?

You can run Netflix through the plex channel on the now TV but it is nowhere near as easy and reliable as the proper Netflix channel you get on the roku. The plex Netflix channel fails to work for me most of the time for the now TV. I have both. The roku itself is a different world compared to the inferior now TV box. Now TV box still good for streaming locally to a bedroom though.

sorry to seem dense but will this stream stuff from my nas drive? im asking because it doesnt highlight it but i assume so. also which is better this or a wd live tv player??

I believe you can use Plex to stream music and films from your PC, so I would guess you can do it from a NAS, NAS software allowing.

The last time I checked the Netflix/plex channel wasn't supported and had been dropped by the dev team due to Netflix changing the platform. As far as I'm aware you can't run Netflix via Plex anymore.

Good price drop - probably due to the Chromecast being launched on Wednesday.

I have the roku LT great little box (£29 when I bought it) have installed loads of apps including 3rd party ones. Roku definately one of the best boxes out there at the mo.

Would this play movies from a zyxel nsa310 nas?

Put the unofficial appstore on my plex yesterday to get youtube and some other apps on my roku lt, great little device

Yeah I'd be interested to know what files types (if any) were supported with the streaming.

Since my ps3 packed up I've been using an iomega device which just can't handle 5.1 sound in mp4's.

Price increased to £62

If you look to the right you'll see the it is the OP price from Amazon.

HATE Plex

You would be better off getting an XBMC box really.

Can someone help me, I have lots of media on an external hard drive plugged into my laptop, I used to be able to stream this onto my tv via ps3 but stupidly upgraded to ps4 which isn't a media server. Will this gadget allow me to do what the ps3 did and is it easy because I am not very good at all ths stuff! Thank you

Is this better than the WD Tv Live?

Just search RK3188 on Amazon and you can find some sellers offering similar but for £10-£20 extra.

Same as the first box I linked but £55

then when you have XBMC installed you can set it up with this xbmchub.com/blo…mc/
to stream from well-known streaming sites.

Netflix runs nicely too but the ANdroid app isn't very nice to navigate on TV. I usually use my phone to add to my list then it's on the very front page.

If I've got an iPhone/iPad/MacBook, should I buy this, or Apple TV?

Spark

Does XBMC support streaming sites now? There weren't any working plug-ins the last time I looked i.e. ones for Netflix, NowTV, iPlayer, 4oD and Demand 5.

If you want to use the Air Play functionality then get the Apple TV if not this is a very good contender.

Annoying that Amazon Prime Video is not supported in the UK on the Roku, but is supported in the US. oO
