I'm gonna need a bigger USB hub

Sorry, mis-interpreted your post (thought you said upgrade to now tv box).

But yes, would be an upgrade to one (especially since this can run plex ).

Only downside is lack of ethernet input.

Is there an adapter for that? Don't see one on Amazon.
I find it really frustrating that there is no single media player that allows me to play all of my digital collection. I have digital movies from Amazon, Sky Store, Google Play, iTunes and Ultraviolet - playing them on a tablet or mobile is a doddle, but on a TV it's a nightmare.

I currently have a fire stick for the tv but can't get Google Play or Sky Store movies. A Chromecast won't let me view Amazon movies, and a roku stick won't access UV. Really annoying!

Yeah, but these companies want to lock people in - if they buy a box, they expect you'll pay rather than buying an all-in-one box, where a person has a choice.

I wouldn't personally need Ethernet, just wondering for those who do.

I find the same problem as well with Catchup TV, mostly because so few things support UKTV Play.

I didn't know you could play back iTunes video on Roku though, is that right or did you just forget to say the Roku can't get that?
£35 of entertainment? I may be thick but can't see what this refers too on Amazon listing?

Do you use a UK Roku account or US one? Only thinking that Flixster may be a possible solution for UV on Roku. I remember when I tried over a year ago with a UK account that I read online that the UK Flixster app for Roku only played trailers, but the I am sure I read the US one supported your UV collection. They may have changed the Flixster UK app to fully support UV now though so it may be worth trying anyway.
What's the £35 entertainment package details please? Can't see any details on mobile site/app or full site either.

Edit: Thanks horsepills

With the £35 in entertainment offer does anyone know if its provided as a code\s or is it somehow tied to your box or roku account?

Personally have zero interest in the £35 stuff but if its provided as codes and not tied to my account could possibly sell them and recoup a bit of the box price....
Damn it, just bought from Currys for £29.99 yesterday

Great price, but I ended up getting a fire stick as an upgrade from my Roku 3500. I so wanted to buy this, until you realise - it’s got a bloody ugly infrared remote control with a receiver you have to stick to your TV!!!!! What on earth were they thinking!!
Every TV in my house is wall mounted and the last thing I want is a bloody ugly receiver stuck on with a sticky pad
I know it sounds dramatic and it probably is, but bluetooth remotes come as standard on Roku’s earlier models so why change it to ancient technology on this?
That said, This is nice speed-wise compared to th 3500 I had and being platform neutral with access to YouTube is handy.
How much Data does this stick use when streaming, lets say I was limited to 30Gb download per month, would I have enough to stream regular tv on a nightly basis with Roku Stick?
At the moment I've got a Now TV box and an Amazon Fire box, and a Netflix account. This device seems to give access to everything I've got a subscription for. But how is it's performance in general? Would I lose anything by using only this and ditching the Now TV and Amazon box? It seems to bring everything together nicely. I don't like the Now TV interfaces but can live with it, but do like the Amazon box.

Have you looked at Android TV? I know you can sizeload Amazon Video and I think i read you could sideload Sky Go too. I'm just not sure of it works with the Sky Store.

Looked online at UV options for Roku and found old articles, so had to try them:

Flixster - removed from Roku store
CinemaNow - removed from Roku store
Sainsburys Entertainment - still on Roku store, but install and boot app to be met with a screen explaining that Sainsburys Entertainment On Demand closed down in September 2016

So yeah, no way to do UV on Roku.

download Roku app on your smart phone and use it as your remote, then infrared remote is not needed. However, streaming stick is tiny and the IR remote is neat so I use both

I got one a week ago and it's lightning fast, especially compared to using Netflix etc on my Humax freesat box!

Gone back up at Tesco too, will update if I see it cheaper anywhere else!
Just been reading about this adhesive strip nonsense! Not ideal for portability. I assume that holding the device in place on a TV table with a bit of blu-tak would be just as effective.
Anyone any idea how I activate the box and get a code or something for the trials on the free entertainment. Worried I did something wrong as when first set up linked the box to a roku account that was set to USA. So had to reset up with another account straight after to get BBC iplayer. Now if want to go on the animal channel giving me option to subscribe
