Roku LT Currys £29.97 - reserve & collect

Cheap price for reserve & collect on Roku LT. £49.99 in store but £29.97 if reserve & collect.

Picked one up today, works a treat.

P.S. If you only want Now TV and Plex go for the Now TV Box for £9.99 but this has all the Roku channels inc Netflix for not a lot more.

Just a shame there's no xbmc support for these things.

There's a lot to be said for Roku for those who would like to try this option - but there's even more to be said for the Roku 1 for not that much more : 1080p on some channels - whereas the NowTV box....isn't.

Got this for the same price a few months ago. Great little box lots of channels including private ones. Get it before it goes back up again

Can someone please post the channel list..... Or at least the main ones

Can you use one of these to ftp in to a remote nas with movies on??

If anyone is interested, you can "sideload" youtube or a simple web browser (not on the roku channel list)...
Plex (media server) is on the roku channel list
akufu.com/now…ad/
Just assume the references to the nowtv box are exactly the same for roku LT box.
I know because I've done it.

Even higher boxes than LT are refused highest 5.x software updates needed for many channels, greedy company & will go bust as a result, many big channels taken off store like ustvnow though might be doable if you pay them & others like Giniko gone completely. Plex is a waste of time on this, etc. Generation 3 roku has been released in USA since march! Basically mean cultured companies' platforms will go under. You can get a much better roku, xd or even xs, via ebay (not currently but from time to time) & they are east coast machines f/w dumped unofficially by roku, as in previous deals posted, just check ebay for a while. Best to avoid though. Get into Plex servers proper or better yet XBMC.

Just get a raspberry pi and run raspbmc. £30

godofwar7

can you send me the link for mini x7

can you post your link for MINIX x7 from China , that link alone will go hot..

Interested to see how these compare to the WDTV range (which I've had for years).

I just bought the WDTV PLAY which is a good little device, with wi-fi I have this streaming via my network, spot on for what I need in the kids bedroom. connected to an external hard drive loaded with films, I would recommend the WDTV PLAY For £32.99 on amazon. thinking of getting another tbh.

Most people have that and don't find it sufficient

NowTV box, Plex sideloaded, fed from my nas hp micro server, fantastic!

Agreed.

Just looked at the MiniX x7 and looks good but im not keen on the price, £80 upward from most sellers on ebay.

All those people bigging up xbmc, yrs the film selection is decent (iceberg) but trying to get any live tv or sports is a minefield and yet to be convinced it's a reliable option. I've tried navi-x but it's pretty lame. If anyone has any tips or knows what's what with xbmc then is appreciate a message but I've never been able to get much out of it.

This or an Android box for Netflix?

just buy a WDTV PLAY from amazon its only £3 more than the roku but a much better box with Netflix too

Do you have a link? Can't see one for less than £50

I got a now bt box free with a telly. Stuck plex on it in 10 minutes using online guides and it's good to go.

Doesn't require a dedicated server or NAS just runs in the background on my mac

Agreed.

Looking on Amazon for WDTV Play and the only one I can find is over £50. Is this the one and does it often sell for £32.99?

Got the roku for myself and wdtv play for kids. In my opinion the roku is better supported (a lot more channels) and has a better interface. The only bonus with the wdtv is the USB port (which is oddly on the side) plus YouTube.

You tried sportsdevil? Each to their own, but icefilms, mashup, and sportsdevil is all I need for movies and sports. Not sure about live tv but sky sports news works fine

Got one of these for Xmas and really like it. The box is small and has WiFi built in.

Out of the box it supports now tv, Netflix, iPlayer, 4od, 5 on demand and Plex. Plex gives you access to the music, photos and videos stored on your pc. You can also access ITV player via plex.

For £30 i think this is a great deal!

if you have a games console ps2,wii,xbox 360 it can be used to make your tv smart just download required apps....xbox does charge a £60 annual live subscription(robbin you no whats)

But this is a good deal rather than bying a fully smart tv which are not future proofed and will not be supportrd by software updates within a year meaning you
will have to hange the tv every couple of years

We have the Cartoon HD app from the iTunes store on our ipad 1st gen and ipod touch 4th and 5th gen. We want to show some of the cartoons on our TV - can this be used to do that?

You need to start shopping around 13 month xbox live simplycdkeys.com/xbo…nth £28.99 or try cdkeys for a cheaper deal at £25.98 using the %5 like code from facebook

"All you need to do is register it online using your PC or smartphone"

Why do you have to do this registering? Considering one of these purely to play video from my PC would not need iplayer and all that.

hot from me. want now TV for sky sports but also want Netflix. I know you can side load Netflix via plex on now TV but sounds like a lot of faffing.

Would this do anything more than my PS3 does already?

bought the Panasonic streamer dmp-ms10 from amazon has WiFi and seems to stream and play everything, YouTube Netflix bit laggy but on plus side has Miracast screen mirroring which I think makes up for it

I've seen this in store with the £29.97 price.

Consumes less power and runs silent easy for whole family to use also i don't think its recommended to leave a ps3 running for long periods of time unlike most of these smart TV boxes.

I think many people already know this. They look at the other options for convenience.

Yeah IceFilms is pretty good, the rest is not much really.

Sounds good. Can you please post a link showing how to get Netflix on raspbmc? Couldn't see it in the add-ons list, and my quick Google search yielded no useful result.
