Good emergency kit to perhaps keep in the car?
Not expecting quality to be too great though.........

cold - you will only get half a job done before it breaks if you put it under any sort of load.

cheap tat.

Look at the reviews, I have rarely seen such poor opinions on an item.

OOYYAH !!

they gonna strip the heads ofyour bolts more than anything so you will need to drill them out

Not voting.
I had one of these and the adaptor broke on first use. However, if the kit is going to be only used lightly then it may be OK for you.

Great tools as long as you don't use them !

What are some folk expecting for under a fiver? If you want quality, you pay for it - at least ten times this price too.

I think the point is that this does more damage than good, regardless of price!

I think that most people like to think they are getting a reasonable item at good price, and in a lot of cases this is so. It would appear that this may not be worth even a fiver. As I have said before about Rolson items-you have to be very careful what you buy they are generic items which are rebadged. Very variable quality.

A little bit of spanner rash.

cheap tools = pain = cold

The only thing more dangerous than nasty cheapo tools, are the people who buy them

Half a job, didnt even get that far

Do not expect a lot from this kit, but enough good for light duty jobs.

I purchased one and the ratchet failed in very first use.

Binned it and purchased a Bahco set which will see out my lifetime; that's getting value for money.

Sorry but cold.

Sounds like an ideal set for my toddler!

Not great quality but for the price would do for a spare set for badgering stuff lol vited hot

Had these from homebase, quality is average. Price is reasonable, but for the quality they won't last long. Not voting either way.

I firmly believe many people need to be let down by a tool before they appreciate the benefit of a good one. I've had a lot of **** in the past, now I have a fairly small tool bag which cost a fair bit to fill but gets me out of almost any situation. My 1/2" is a bahco, gotta admit it seems rock solid.

I've spent the last couple of years upgrading all my cheap tools to decent ones; I now have a decent selection of dewalt, bahco, Bosch, milwaukie, teng.... I even find that the majority of stanley hand tools are pretty decent for my non pro use.

If I'd have purchased quality the first time around I'd have saved a fortune!

God, no.

Exactly the opposite of what you'd want to solve problems in 'an emergency'!

If they're big enough to not swallow bits, ok for kids as an alternative to a 'toy socket set' which probably costs more and is made of plastic.

I'd be upgrading them if they started to actually use it on real stuff (ie bike, etc).

You would be better off opening the bolts with your teeth

I own this set. It's pretty bad.

Look at all the whiners haha.

Oh and I should note that they have this set at work and I've used it a bit.

It just about does the job ok when being used on plastic based domestic appliances.

As for the whiners - well, I see one whining about just about this post ;).

not worth even being in the 99p store.

have ypu got any plans to dismantle whole car...

The saying "buy cheap, buy twice" is very true when it comes to tools - steer clear

Is the whole kit rubbish or just the ratchet that fails and the sockets are ok? Not that I'd buy a set but just curious.

Ratchet particularly rubbish, but sockets aren't great either.
Tolerances aren't TOO bad, but from previous experiences with this type, aren't strong at all.
Fit of everything (ie ratchet to extension to socket) isn't great.

I'll give one to my local car dealer, then they can REALLY blame their tools !!

Bought these a few months back. rachet broke on the second use and the bearings fell out of the adapter first time.

It's £5 people, don't go in expecting anything more than a paper weight.

ha paperweight

its ideal for kids bike repairs and at a push a skateboard but thats it nothing heavy not even a stiff nut

BIT TOO WIDE TO BE A DOOR STOP

Does Ed China use these tools on the Wheeler Dealer series ?

Reminds me of that Volkswagen ad - the one with the two rock climbers where the bargain hunter/climber says "It's almost as good as standard rope!".

Some things cost a lot of money for a reason, as I'm sure the victims of this set will be finding out.
