link to the tank

I have been looking for this specific tank for a few months now on ebay for a used one. They go for around £150+. But for £275 i will seriously think about buying it new now.

No filter?

Good price, tanks cost way too much. Just need to find a good price to upgrade from my Juwel Rio 400

I think i will give it a miss. Love the cabinet though.

I dont like the gravel or the filter. But will be good for someone.

Dont forget quidco.

is this a tropical or marine set up?

Could I put a rabbit in this, I mean would the filter still work

mmmhhhh very tempted

Stuff it, ordered, this is a really good deal, I just could not resist...great post. Thanks.

20 mins to decide...Your hands must of been twitching a lot.

Tropical, but any tank can be converted to marine for extra ££££

Pets @ Home are doing it for £260 but only at selective stores

would much prefer an external filter on this, nice looking tank though. good find.

Does it come with the water?

I recently bought a tank from Seapets, really good service and around 5% quidco too

Unclegeorge

Does it come with the water?

Lol, it should come with containers of pre-treated water ready to pour in when ready to install with the price

Just a heads up guys, they were really helpful when I bought my Roma 6 months back - if you don't like the filter included ask them about changing it

Fluval customer service is appalling. Would never buy anything from them again. Poorly made tanks with cheap cabinets. Mine leaked from around the top of the tank and they didnt want to know. Avoid

I have recently been in a bricks and mortar Seapets store...the live animals that they sell are kept in unhappy conditions The rabbit enclosures are tiny (far, far smaller than at pets at home and with nowhere to hide/entertainment and poor ventilation), the birds are all very stressed and the fish tanks had dead fish in them. I personally wouldn't support Seapets by purchasing anything from them.

As long as you add water, yes it will still work.

I have this tank and cabinet, it's fantastic and doesnt look ugly like 99% of fish tank cabinets.
The Fluval U4 filter that comes with it is ok to begin with, but I recommend upgrading to an external filter once you are up and going. I upgraded after about 9 months.
This is not the tank to get if you want to install custom 3D backgrounds as there is a bar across the top of the tank that prevents large backgrounds getting into the tank without them being cut in half.
Our multitude of fish include Norman, Sainsburys and the oddly named HelloFishGerald, and boy do our Platys like to breed!

Damn you, why did you have to post this? :P

I've got a Lido 120 with its own filter + a Fluval 405 and wanted to get something a bit bigger as I'm currently also running a 60ltd tank full of baby bristlenose plec.

Really want this tank, but my only worry is that my floor wont support it - itd be going in a garden office (self built, log-cabin style - very well insulated and has heating). It's got a wooden beamed floor, with a hawklok base.

Much like Pets At Home then?

I've never been in a pet store with as many dead and diseased fish in the tanks as my local Pets At Home store. I stopped using them for anything fish related ages ago. Now no longer use them for anything cat related either due to their horrendous customer care. They are incapable of keeping the most basic of promises. Useless.

I use a local independent place now. Far better.

Oh, and heat for this deal.

Was in dobbies yesterday and they also have this for £260 or was it £269. Anyway everything apart from substrate seemed to be bundled with the package

Bargain, just paid 420 for a juwel 180 vision, I would seriously get an external canister filter, the filter that comes with these is only useful for keeping a very small number of fish!

I agree, there are good and bad PaH stores. I once sent them a zip file with 15 photos featuring dead fish, decayed fish being eaten by other creatures, clothing tags floating in tanks, etc and they promised to have a word with the store manager. So it is worth taking some pictures if you see this kind of thing. I do try to shop elsewhere now though.

Screw it- just ordered one!

I popped down to my two LFS:

- Maidenhead aquatics don't stock it
- Hertfordshire Fisheries wanted £245 for the glass tank and an extra £130 for the base - not including anything else!

This is an amazing deal!

Also for anyone curious, the substrate being included here should be fine for bottom feeders and loaches - its very smooth from what I can tell!

You should see NottCuts (not many of them around anymore but we have one in Smallford, St Albans) - they dont even employ a specialist fish keeper (My sister worked there up until a month ago) and rarely clean the tanks - they never bother removing dead fish.

In comparison I popped into Maidenhead Aquatics to find 4 staff doing cleanouts and another guy was there going round the tanks with a test kit. Cant fault them for that really!

Thanks for this. Thought the filter that came with it looked a bit pants - I got a variation of that one free with a Pactical Fishkeeping magazine subscription a couple of years ago and it was rubbish.

I've got a Fluval 405 in my Lido 120 which is major overkill for it, but its perfect for the Roma, will be able to transfer it over for a near instant cycle.

I've also got an Eheim external (classic) filter - might give that one ago as they dont seem to need parts as often as the Fluval ones.

Anyone know how long this deal will last? Off on holidays Fri for 2 weeks so hoping the deal is still on byvthetime I come back!

If anyone is put off by the filter then there is a simple solution. Put it on EBay and sell it as a new/boxed item. Then put the proceeds towards buying a better one.

I would personally recommend an Eheim Ecco Pro. I've got one in my 200L tank and it is superb !

I was planning on doing that and using a Eheim 2213 and Fluval 204 from another tank - then I found out the 204 has a lower waterflow (Thanks to the amazing AQAdvisor site), so think I'll be using the Eheim and the internal together (I always run 2 filters - the difference in fish and water quality is huge).

That being said if its anything like the Fluval U2 it's a piece of junk and wont last much more than 12 months.

Can't go wrong with a good Eheim external filter - even the older basic models are rock solid.

Dont suppose Seapets have called to sort out delivery yet have they? Was hoping they would call the next day but had nothing yet!

Went for this a couple of days ago, thank you!

ricksketchy - I've not heard from them yet either Fingers crossed it'll be today!

Ended up calling them this morning to be told they would call back - they didn't. Called them about 2pm to be told it was being sent out today and that I'd get a call from the courier to confirm the delivery. It's now 3 mins to 5 and no call from courier. Guess I'm not getting it this week.

Pretty **** poor service from Seapets so far, I even paid the extra for "Priority Express Delivery" - they could have shipped it yesterday but didn't

Original Poster

Had confirmation of dispatch today from Seapets

so probably delivered early next week

just waiting for a call from the courier to select a del date. Tank ready to ship so the email from seapets say.

can't wait tbh. my old tank sprang a leak 3years ago and I was due to replace.

Had a call today from 'Palletways' who apparently handle all seapets tank deliveries. Coming on Monday - couldnt give me an exact time, was just told anywhere between 9 and 5 (altho their website says deliveries start at 7am! . From the looks of things its delivered attached to a pallet (which you have to dispose of if any of the reviews are correct).

Got a big email from seapets demanding I check every inch of the glass before signing for the tank, saying they will not provide a replacement if its damaged and you've signed for it (which IIRC is illegal).

Anyhoo hopefully it'll get here and all be ok - can't wait to get started on it. Moving up from a Lido 120.

I highly recommend joining tropicalfishforums.co.uk if you havent already - some great info and people on there. I'm 'RickM' over there.

I had a tank delivered a couple of weeks back they also called on the morning with a more accurate time. The chap lowered it on a pallet and once I'd inspected it and taken it into the house he took the pallet away with him. I was a little worried by the email of delivery demands too.

I got the 80cm Aquael Ecoline Bow which is on offer for £99 rather than £145 as it is end of life, feel free to post it as a deal as I can't be bothered.
