Agree that £1800 is not an entry level price but this was never worth £1800 at RRP in the first place. In fact I'd be surprised if they ever sold one bike at £1800.

Got me thinking...I wonder if there is a single person out there that paid £1799 for this.

Really good price, smashes the prices offered by other vendors. If only they would accept cycle2work vouchers sooner than late autumn '23 then I'd bite.

I'm not convinced that it was ever the case that a bike with mechanical disc brakes was being sold for £1,800.

The RRP is a joke, but the offer price isn’t too bad. Not exactly super exciting considering PlanetX dump out similar bikes for similar money most the year round

There's the Vitus Sora for £690. What would people recommend for a novice? Either of them look good, but obviously quite a significant difference in price.

Look at the RRPs , the Rondo is a great bike for the money. I own one so can vouch for it and have no problem with the brakes, they're as good as mechanical discs get . The only thing that lets it down is the chainset, It works fine but a bit ugly .

very close to biting on this - looks good value in current market.

I have a Single Speed commuter with slicks that I've come off twice in the last 2 months, London roads are just so greasy.
Plus the Voodoo Bizango I use once a year....I'm thinking this would be a great 2 in 1 bike for me, and it would allow me to tour also.

Anyone know if the brakes can be upgraded in time? Hydraulics?

I got it and am really pleased with it. Brakes are dual piston mechanical (not as good as the hydraulics obviously, but adequate). 1x10 Microshift is a bit clunky but the range is ok. For the price it's great though.
