Why bad news? Only reviews on this I can find are very good and surely waterproofing and protecting your decking is a good thing?

My wife was maimed by decking stain 3 years ago to the day. It is really bad news buyers beware!

You could probably use the Ronseal Timbercare 9l tubs that Home Bargains are doing for £6 for decking. Just done our fence with it and it looks great. I can't see why you can't use it on decking.

it will ware off when walking on it

I'm saying decking stain in general is bad news.

Try some oil on a test patch that can't be seen and you will be converted (everyone is converted). Decking stain is a load or rubbish, not as bad as varnish obviously but the same thing happens, eventually it comes off and looks awful.

Google it. There's a load of pretentious so and so's that sound a bit like my post....but they are actually talking sense and once you try using oil you will sound just like them

i've just done my decking in this stuff and looks fab! hope it doesn't peel! been on for about a month so far and has given my tired, slippy decking a new lease of life!
