One Coat this year then another coat next year ... This stuff does not last long.

RONSEAL - NEVER does what it says on the tin
The actual product on sale in pound stretcher is different from the one coat fence life. It’s timber care that they sell which is inferior. One coat fence life (pictured above) can be applied by brush or sprayed on and has a deeper penetration in to the wood. All you discounters and supermarkets sell the cheaper alternative (timber care).

I've just been in and noticed the same. The ones in store aren't sprayable

In the past with oil and creosolte versions this was an issue, now does not matter (just use water +/- strainer depending on product)

So for this deal, even better! Just add 0.5-1 litre water and there you go, you have more of the spray-able version.

If it is the one-coat version with the wax mixed in, this is a hot deal, can someone confirm if, one coat or timbercare
This ok for mdf garage shelving to prevent mould?

This is definitely not one coat, more like two or three coats (at least). Used this on the weekend to paint my shed and gate.
No Spray?
No pay!
I got 9L for £5.99 in Home Bargains yesterday. They also do the same deal in b&m bargains
For the love of god and your neighbours, do not use a sprayer. Our lovely new decking and garden furniture was beautifully painted by our neighbour in a dark oak with their erratic spraying. Those things should be banned!
This is not good stuff. It actually washes off with the rain despite what it says on the tub/tin. Like another poster states, one coat -never. It's creosote all the way for me. More expensive but a much better job, smells a bit (read lot) but no 'green' returns to the fence.

I completely agree with what you are saying but I have so much fencing that I am going to need to use a sprayer and that frightens me somewhat, so I am attempting to plan the best way to put it on without causing too many problems for me or my neighbours!

completely agree about the elbow grease but with a three year old and a wife who is about to give birth my time is very limited at the moment so I have to try and save time somewhere!

9 yrs ago my neighbour used a spray. My drain pipes still have red spots. Plus he got it all over the car. The bank seized his property but he never paid for my car to be restored.

When i painted mine i used a sprayer. Simply take off the fence.. cover the behind with a polythene bag.. bobs your uncle
Home Bargains currently sell a 9 litre tub of this for £6 which works out cheaper.
