Ronseal path & patio cleaner 5Ltr £4.99 @ home bargains

Used this last week and have to say I'm impressed - spray on with a garden sprayer leave for 20 minutes give the real manky parts a bit of a scrub with a brush and blast off with a jet wash - paving is like new :-)

This is also known as Thompson's patio cleaner and yes it's the same stuff.

The results are far better then using a power washer alone ( as I've done myself in the past ) so thought I'd recommend it.

Hope it helps some of you.

Yeah brilliant stuff for a fiver.
Pointless photo though.

The garden equivalent of a fat persons before and after diet photos.

I agree, no point buying this at all when its the pressure washer that cleaned it.
If you want a hassle free option, try Wet & Forget, it really works. Just spray on and leave. Costco is cheapest. No jet washing required. More expensive though and not sure how good the eBay cheap versions are..

That's your opinion, I appreciated the photos.

I've never used this brand but have tried loads of different brands and do next to nothing. invest in a pressure washer for best results.
Cheap bleach does exactly the same job.

Yes the jet wash does the hard work. But what I do is that I lay it down after the jet wash. I can very distinctively see the difference between the areas that I've applied this stuff and the areas I haven't eight months on. Try it, definitely works.

I have tried it and see no difference from where it's been applied and where it hasn't.

Is a seasonal product in costco or available all year. I'm so going to get this it looks amazing!

Yup, that's how I use it, i.e. as a protective coat against algae and moss. The jet wash removes dirt and grime. The areas that has been sprayed do not go dark over the winter months. Worked for two years in a row for me. I'm not sure why it works so well though. I'm theorising that the algae and moss is a trap for dirt so by preventing its growth the area remains clean. This year I'm spraying everything down before the summer ends ;-)
Cheap bleach, mix 50/50 with water, sprinkle on with watering can, slightly rub with soft brush and leave for 30 minutes.
+1 for cheap bleach. I used to always pressure wash my patio. This year my dad suggested bleach. I use it neat with a little sprinkle of water. Soft yard brush it into the slabs. It foams up a bit. Then just leave it to dry. Far less hassle than using my pressure washer. Far less damaging to the cement grouting. Far quicker to do and a hell of a lot less mess.
Patio Magic for me. Should have taken some photos as our patio was waaaaay worse than PF. Green and slimy. Patio Magic sprayed on - with low pressure garden sprayer, no pressure washers - and simply left alone, no further work required.
does this stuff have the acid in it?

was using wilcos own make, but this year thay`ve taken the acid out.

The active ingredient of Patio Magic is benzalkonium chloride mixed with water which you can buy a lot cheaper from ebay etc... Not knocking patio magic I've used it and it does work without jet washing but after checking the contents you can make it for a lot less yourself.

I know. I bought it from Wilkos and a quick gander at the active matched one of Wilko's own, which was a fair bit cheaper right there on the shelf. Went with Patio Magic anyway because I know that formulation works and I'm happy to pay that price for the results.

I need this product in my life.
buy the missus some knee pads and a scrubbing brush thingy go for a pint job should be a goodun when you get back.

Not sure, it's in store atm as I bought some for about £17.

I'll be honest, it looks too good to be true but it actually works really well. Sprayed everything last week, patio, drive, fence panels and posts, conservatory - all already coming up nicely
I need something I can use near my grass, all my paths and paving have grass next to them.. Obviously don't want to kill off the grass and plants..
Anyone know if this is useful for a driveway with oil stains etc or should i use something else for that?

Not sure really. But Fairy 10x Power Spray has worked for me in the past. https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/Shops/Fairy-Power-Spray-375-ml-Pack-4/B0046U8IAE

Spray on, let it soak in for 30 mins then scrub or jet wash. Like magic. Caveat: try a little on a small corner blah blah blah

Interesting. What kind of gig is that?

Yup

Must be good if it disintegrates chairs too

Morris Lubricants Lydian – highly corrosive to plastics, but water soluble so easily neutralised. I use it for cleaning car and motorcycle parts. It’s great for quickly and easily degreasing chains, EGR valves etc.
Just buy Wet and Forget. That stuff is amazing. I buy it from Costco when it is in, or online. Just dilute it down 1/5 and spray it on your patios, decking etc twice a year. Your patio comes up like new (I mean like new) and you never have to jet wash again. Everyone I have recommended it to have become converts.
