Oh how funny! :x

This was an Absolutely Brilliant series!

I remember watching it as a boy. It was so powerful that I have often thought about the series and the main characters over the years, can't believe its over 30 years ago!!! And it has still left a mark on me. How many films, series etc can you say that about? There are a few but this is definitely up there with the ones that really do have an effect on your life. It really did make you think about slavery and how brutal mankind can be. At the time, this was a ground breaking series. It told a story of a family and their son, 'Kunta Kinte' who was abducted from his African village and sold into slavery in America. He has a daughter (Kizzy) and she is 'sold off' and taken away from him and his wife. Kizzy later has a child to her 'Master'! (how I HATE that word!!!!) The child 'Chicken George' eventually leads his family to freedom. A great man indeed.

I would buy this in a instant but we are going through a pretty hard time at the minute so I'm afraid funds just aren't there but if I could buy it I certainly would in the blink of an eye.
