Hi everybody, this is the deal of the century, f650W GOLD rated SLI capable quality power supply with 5 years warranty, i use to own the 750W version for more than one year, until the fan were noisy, and then i replaced it to a Seasonic Prime Gold 650W,
but i was very satisfied with the Rosewill!
As far as i know, it was manufactured by Superflower, rebranded by Rosewill.

The reviews give 4 starts everywhere, even JohnnyGuru tested the 750W version, and gave 8.1 score.

Dont do it its rubbish, jonny guru tested the 750 watt version and the fan was like a jet taking off and the soldering of the wires was really bad . OP its not a superflower and its a bit bad to say that they maybe, SF maybe the oem’s of the much bigger versions but not this junk, everything about this screams junk and theres no way id put this in a mile of my rig. The 5 year warranty wont be much good when its gones bang and takes out your £600 gpu and i doubt the warranty will be worth the paper its wrote on as the company will probably be gone.

If I only hadn't just bought a different one I would jump on this. Great find.

Huh, I went to your link

Build Quality (20% of the final score) - I found no major issues worth mentioning, but there were two minor issues Enhance never really has had a problem with until now - the sloppy soldering on the mainboard and the almost broken AC line wire. A full point deduction for each, and I'll be shocked if I ever see another Enhance come like this again. They're that good, and I must have gotten the magic unicorn that wasn't up to their usual standards. And that one Dura electrolytic... I think I'll go a half point on that. 7.5.

I'm not entirely sure how your summary of "its rubbish", "everything about this screams junk", etc equates with their conclusion?

"The Capstone G series pretty well hits the mark it was aimed at - those who need a good, solid, efficient, no frills power supply that just gets the job done without putting any hardware at risk. Quark units aside, this is about as good as it gets from Rosewill to my knowledge, and that's by no means a bad thing. It's just got too many awesome units competing with it price wise to be as attractive a unit as it could be."

I actually ordered this yesterday and was going to post it after it despatched, but the OP has beaten me to it
yeah utterly rubbish, powered a skylake i5 6600k @ 4.5 GHz paired with a gtx 1070 for more than a year, until the fan were loud. Was always stable. This is so bargain, so i ordered one just to have a tester/backup psu:)!
Great price! Cheers!

I'd call a fan becoming noisy in just one year pretty rubbish.

OP didn't say it was a Superflower just that the 750w they owned was possibly manufactured by them, which is possible as Superflower were the manufacturer of older capstone models
Although this version is made by Enhance it hardly classifies it as junk, they make good quality PSU's for the most part.

Rosewill are owned by Newegg in America so its highly unlikely they will be gone within that 5 year warranty period
so, looks like I can safely buy one. Cannot be a bad purchase at this price and it is listed as 2nd tier in a techpower list same as some antec I own

To be fair though doesn't say anything bad about the actual components of the supply, the fan is just the cooler (though important granted) and the fan on anything can wear out before it's time and TBF PSU fans probably get the most wear as they (generally) run constantly where as GPUs and CPUs can vary the speed and shut them down altogether in low load...

Yeah very safe I'd say especially as you have Amazon CS if anything does go wrong. Amazing price was considering upgrading my BeQuiet 530 Watt but there just isn't any need as my current set up doesn't tax that and doubt I could upgrade this year if I wanted to thanks to the crazy GPU/RAM pricing....

ok, show me better gold rated psu for sli system for 40. No, show me ANY gold rated psu for 40:)!

Once again, powered a i5 skylake @ 4.5 GHz paired with an overclocked gtx 1070 for more than one year, until the fan were loud.
BUT maybe i am just too picky with psu-s, because i sent my SEASONIC PRIME GOLD 120 pounds psu back for noisy fan:)!
Now i am using a Corsair Rm650x, seems quiet at the moment.

SO buy it with confidence:)! No better cheap PSU deal out there! I think this is a misprice.
Only 5 in stock so don't hesitate, even good for backup/tester PSU:)!

ordered 2 already for my expensive habits, cannot buy the rest.

Thanks

I think people would not hesitate to buy a powercool 80 plus instead, just to save another couple of pounds, lol
Heat bought one for a build in the future thx

I can't, but I also can't imagine many people would prefer a quid or two less on their yearly electricity bill above living with a noise fan every minute the computer is turned on.

Efficiency and smooth output and so on are very nice extras but they have to be in addition to the fundamentals.

Plenty of good reviews here. You will always get a couple with issues, most say it's near silent.

never heard of this make and after reading the comments, I think ill stay safe and avoid this.

Your choice, but the only really negative comment is from someone who just took two pictures from a review and made up a conclusion totally different from what the review actually said, and five other people decided to 'like' that comment despite it being utter nonsense. I suspect many people want to make themselves feel better about their PSU's that cost them twice as much.

the bad soldering in the pics is not genuinely been made at the factory. That would usually be done by machinery and in a truly perfect way and the same for the cheapest PSU in the market. The one they tested must have been used by someone that did some modifications I think, I could even make better than that. I do not believe all of that exposed wiring was a result of bad manufacturing
I say you get what you pay for, may have good spec on paper but will it last? My guess is no and if you are going to spend big money on pc components you never skimp on the power supply, one of the most common over sites by enthusiastic system builders. If you have a slightly dodgy psu you may experience obscure intermittent issues which could drive you insane in the long term. I’ve seen 800 Watt power supplies going for £19.99, and yes they are complete garbage with a 12 month shelf life, usually these random suppliers disappear off the face of the earth.

these 800w you talking about do have very low specifications written on paper, specifications of this one are not only high on the paper. @ £40 it was a true bargain for a 650watts gold class. Looks like that no many understood that this was a misprice which is going to be honoured as mine it is already been despatched to be here by 8pm tomorrow. I must admit that it is not the very top of the range make but then for a similar one you need to spend over twice the price. Saying so I also had a top of the range HX corsair which went faulty for no reason after few months and the web is full of stories about top of the range stuff which does result crap that very often.
I also got very cheap psu's and they still work nicely after many years of use. They do not make any difference at all for me when I run tests with various software and results are the same but do not get me wrong, I always love to spend on good stuff even so I need to pay full price very often.

Guess what, " you get what you pay for ": SEASONIC PRIME GOLD 650W fully modular for 120pounds, after couple of months the fan started to grind! Sent it back immediately. So believe me, this Rosewill PSU is a good middle range one. Even though i've had a crappy fan one. Was worthy to give it a go for 40 quid. Now i think you just blame yourself why didn't buy one:)!

back in stock guys, only 2 left
loads left now but at £69.99, so those who thought it was bad quality and too cheap can now buy it, safe in the knowledge its an expensive item.
HorseHair Vs650 is there at £45 tho
Wouldn't having the fan be too noisy after only a year be reason to not to recommend the power supply so highly? I'd expect a gold rates PSU's fan to be quiet for longer than that.

This could have been just a faulty one, doesn't mean all will be noisy.

It's been £70 or above most of the time - then a sudden drop to £60 a week or two ago (at just one supplier), then to £40.

I'm still bemused by the fact that the 'top comment' in this thread is fiction and lies.
anyone received it? I received the first one today , the other was purchased under a different screen name.
So far so good, testing it and I cannot spot a minimal fault and cannot hear any noise at all.
Testing now with gtx 970 sli and also rx480 crossfire. Max current draw is no more than 560 at the highest peak and on gaming.
Thank you once again OP for spotting this
