Approx 1960mm long, very comfortable and I can vouch for the quality of M&S sofas as we have had our current one 3 years now and it is still great.

Our local store had their display model in Baker Chenille, Gunmetal which looked great plus it was the cheapest - this saved us £120 as we nearly went for a different fabric...

£279 for a quality sofa - Bargain!!!

My friend got this when it was on offer at the same price a few months ago. It's a really good quality, comfy sofa. Be careful when ordering though - only a few fabrics are available for £279, other fabrics can be a lot more expensive. They have swatches in-store to help you decide.

the £279.00 sofa..is the gray one "Baker Chenille, Gunmetal " for those trying to find it

Slightly misleading, in that 99% of the sofas are more than £279, but they are good quality.

For what it's worth, M&S are still taking off 2.1% for the vat as well.

For a laugh

Re: Chunky plain

Nice sofa, shame about the legs..

word of warning though, I've had three sets of M&S sofas in the past 18months - quality is not always certain!

Having bought a couple of sofas from M&S I'd not do so again. I wasn't impressed by the quality (or lack of).

M&S' customer service is great.

The sofa we bought 3 years or so ago developed a tear at the zip - there was a no quibble replacement.

Try that with DFS and their "structural guarantee" stance. The sales man told me last week if you have any problems that are other than a "structural" nature you would be hard pressed to get a replacement etc Plus their sofa was twice the price and not twice the sofa...

Each to their own as nobody is ever in full agreement on forums - everyone is entitled to their opinion of course.

For £279, and for M&S's after care - compared to the rest of the retailers whom remains on the high street flogging furniture you would be hard pressed for a better deal.
