Good find & a great price

They've put their price up by £7 I see. I got one 9 months ago for £19.99

Bought one last year for the same price and returned it. Horrible piece of tat.

Looks a bit like an owl...

Ideal if your a wildlife fan!

It's a good price, but if it's for a watch as ugly as that, who cares?

Can't unsee the face...

Is that Roy Hodgson?

That watch is a bit too 1980's for my liking, but an OK price if it floats your boat. X)

lol what do you expect for 20 quid watch from Argos lol

I won't buy a leather strapped watch again, especially one that looks like an unhappy owl

Totally angry face!

The crown in the original picture looks like it has dirt in it. Regardless, still a good price for a Rotary.

Is that Roy Hodgson?

He's a big fan of Wotawy watches

Just be aware not a "real" moon phase, then again its £20.

The strap in thin and flimsy, the face "in the flesh" looks horrid, it's an odd size and looks really, really nasty on the wrist. £20 is all it's worth.
At the most.

Disagree. Yes, it's not huge, but that does not bother me. I think it looks very nice & for £20 it was a bargain.

It has a night indicator i.e moon and day indicator ie. sun. It does not have wax / wane / full etc... How do you not know this as you profess to own one?

I know the ones you mean, they are usually called sun & moon display...... but if they specifically say 'moonphase' then the moon should rotate in a monthly cycle. The window is even shaped to show parts of the moon in the same way as it would wax & wane.
But I don't know for certain about this watch because I don't own it....... I only own one Rotary, and I only bought that because it was only £15. I don't really rate these Chinese made Rotarys.

I don't profess to own one! I bought one as a gift for somebody and I set the watch up for them ready for use. This included setting the moon phase to match the actual phase of the moon.

What makes you think that this has a day and night indicator and not a proper moon phase? Do you own one.

I can assure you and anybody else reading this thread that this watch does indeed have a "real" moon phase. If you owned one yourself you would indeed know this. Why are you claiming that it does not?

As it so happens I do have it. Its Chinese tat and has not left the drawer because of that and it is CERTAINLY NOT a proper moon phase complication.

You own a watch! Well done. What do you profess to show with your picture?

I can guarantee 100% that the watch I received DEFINITELY 100% DID HAVE A FULL PROPER REAL MOON PHASE! I know this as I had to go through the rather arduous task of setting it! The moon did not just simply rotate completely as it would every 24 hours with a day/night indicator.

I actually thought that there was an issue with the watch when I received it as I had wrongly assumed that it was a day/night indicator and I couldn't work out why the moon did not move with each hour. It was only after I had read the instructions that I realised that it was indeed a full moon phase!

As detailed here 29.5 day moon phase (you will notice that the model numbers correspond) - answers.argos.co.uk/ans…htm

Where did you buy yours from? What is the model number?

So this watch is a moonphase then...... its just that it gives you all the monthly phases of the moon in one night, every night

The £15 Rotary I have is marked 300mtrs WR, I wonder how true that is ?...... not very I expect.

The plot thickens...... is it..... isn't it..... are there two different models of the same watch ?

Its the same watch, from Argos. The real problem here is that Norfolk does not know what a proper moon phase complication is and is ultra defensive- what you describe as having set is not! Needless to say you will never see one on a £20 - my ORGINAL point.

Come on then, enlighten us to what a proper moon phase is then? You're claiming this watch is a day/night - it certainly is not! You were there when I set the watch were you? Assuming that you think that a 29.5 day lunar cycle & having to set the watch to the current phase of the moon is not a "Real" moonphase?

Incidentally, not that I mention the moon phase, but you will see that I commented on the thread from 10 months ago on page 3 - hotukdeals.com/dea…767

Can you please take a picture of this sun indicator that you're referring to?

Being a watch expert I am sure that you're fully aware that day/night indicators on watches usually use the CRESCENT MOON with stars to indicate night and the SUN to indicate day!
