Rotary Super 7 SCUBA 'Pepsi' Automatic Navy Blue Dial Silicone Strap Men’s Watch S7S004S
WatchNation has worked in conjunction with Rotary on a new collection of dive watches; Rotary Super 7 Scuba. It was a project that was born out a personal passion and driven by a commitment to enable you to own a dive watch that was the best in its class and one that delivers on unprecedented levels of functionality and style. The collection consists of a range of classic dial options, which are available on either a silicone strap or a solid stainless steel bracelet. Designed exclusively for WatchNation, the aim of the collection was to provide you with a highly reliable dive watch that can handle any situation or terrain; from the depths of the oceans through to the formalities of the business world. Because we understand the importance of finding the perfect timepiece for you and the feeling that it brings when it is on your wrist.

Super 7 Key Features

  • 300 Metres Water Resistant
  • Scratch Resistant Sapphire Glass
  • Dual Coloured Luminous Hands & Markers
  • Automatic & Hand-Winding Movement Miyota 8205 With Day/Date
  • Accuracy Of -20/+40 Seconds Per Day
  • Screw Down Embossed Crown & Case Back
  • Applied Dial Markers - Stainless Steel With Thick Luminous
  • 120-Click Unidirectional Bezel With Luminous Pip

The Case:
The Rotary Super 7 S7S004S has been designed to provide you with optimal precision and performance. A 42mm robust 316 stainless steel case houses the highly reliable Miyota 8205 movement. It consists of a mixture of highly-polished and vertically-brushed finished surfaces, creating a subtle visual barrier. An embossed ‘S7’ screw down crown is protected by a tapered crown guard, allowing for easy usability and functionality. The screw down case back, that features a deeply etched ‘Super 7’ logo, helps to provide the impressive 300 metres of water resistance. The case back also features an engraved serial number, making each piece unique. As any true tool watch should have, sapphire crystal glass has also been chosen due to its scratch resistant qualities, second only to diamond in terms of its durability.

The Bezel:
The two-tone stainless steel bezel provides a seamless transition between the case and itself, which imparts a modern feel on to the watch. The contrasting red and blue colour scheme provides the watch with its ‘Pepsi’ nickname. An applied luminous pip is present at the 12 o’clock mark bolstering the functionality of the watch with warm blue hues. It is a 120-click and uni-directional bezel that allows for precise and smoother movement when rotated. Also, the tall sided bezel grip gives the watch an added statement of intent, while tying the piece back to its archived roots, as it allows you to easily rotate the bezel and measure elapsed diving time.

The Dial:
The deep blue dial has a classic and technical appeal as it pays homage to the dive watches of the 1970s, when uncluttered design prevailed. Legibility was the central design code behind the layout of the dial. Deeply applied circular hour markers surround the dial, with rectangular hour markers at 12, 6 and 9 to ensure easy orientation of the dial at depths of even 300 metres in the ocean. High grade green luminosity has been generously applied to the markers to allow for readability even at the greater depths of the oceans.

Each of the three hands differentiates in size, to enhance the legibility of the dial. Each hand has also been treated to a luminous coating to allow for easy reading, while the minute hand features an orange outline and blue luminous hues to match the pip to easily differentiate dive timing from the rest of the dial. The lollipop second hand is an important feature as the lumed circular tip provides the wearer with confirmation that the watch is still running when in darkness or the depths of the sea. The ‘Rotary Super 7’ logo is positioned neatly beneath the 12 o’clock index, which features the quintessential orange accents that invigorate the dial. A sunken day-date window replaces the 3 o’clock marker, and provides the dial with depth. Additional depth is bestowed on to the dial through the chapter ring that is home to a white 60-minute track around the edge of the dial.

The Strap:
This timepiece comes on a comfortable black perforated silicone strap that is both breathable and durable. Silicone straps have long been a staple feature of many of the market’s most reliable dive watches, due to their superior water resistant qualities. It comes in an accordion style and it features an engraved ‘Super 7’ extra-secure stainless steel buckle to ensure that the watch remains securely fastened on your wrist at all times. The maximum length of the strap is 27cm, allowing it to fit a range of wrist sizes, as it is easily adjustable. The accordion style strap allows for it to stretch over a wetsuit comfortably. The watch has a standard lug width of 22mm. The silicone strap proudly displays the Super 7 logo on the strap and the keeper to remind you that it has been specially designed for this watch.

The Functions:
Japanese made high-quality automatic Miyota 8205 caliber movement powers this timepiece. All parts of the movement are manufactured at Miyota’s Japanese plants, which enable them to ensure their quality. It consists of 21 jewels and it beats at a vibration frequency of 21600 per hour. Power can be supplied to the watch either mechanically, through the energy that is covered through the momentum generated by the swing of the wearer’s arm, or it can be hand wound by simply winding the crown. When fully charged it offers a power reserve of 42 hours. It has an accuracy of -20/+40 seconds per day. Dual language is also offered, which allows you to either display the day in English or Spanish. The Super 7 Scuba collection has a water resistance of 300 metres, making each watch in the collection suitable for saturation diving.

Very nice price, but the title is a bit misleading. The ceramic bezel version is more than the price in the title.

Blame the mods, I put the price as £140 and the title picture was the black bezel but they changed it??? (edited)

Couple of reviews here wristwatchreview.co.uk/rot…iew and here watchreviewblog.com/rot…ew/ for anyone not familiar with this particular model which Rotary produced in conjunction with Watchnation. It’s not just-another-Rotary, it’s rated for 300m, has a sapphire crystal and the bezel is ceramic on the ones with black bezels. Bezel action is fine on mine - better than on my Seiko 5 Sports (“5KX”) and as good as my SKX009. Movement is a Miyota 8205 which isn’t to everyone’s taste, but I’ve never had anyone ask me what the funny noise is (8200s are known for rotor noise), as some folks claim. Movement is made in Japan and the watch is assembled there.
I paid about £100 more than this for mine and was happy… at this price, it’s a steal.

Lovely watch for the price. I have the orange version. Built really well. Also, I prefer over the seiko someone commented above. They’re two-a penny.

You can pick up a Seiko 5 Sport Pepsi in the sales for less money and its a better watch..

What's better about the Seiko 5 sports than this one? also do the Seiko 5 sports come with a sapphire glass? (edited)

Miyota 8205 - trust me, you don`t want that movement. It is reliable, but it`s rotor is just absurdly loud. I have got two watches on that movement and never again. Seiko NH35 is waaaaaaay better in that price range.

This looks scubarey. I'm going to buy this and a diver outfit and go diving. I don't know how to scuba but it looks pretty easy, you just swim and breathe through a pipe.

Also worth looking at the Depth Charge ones at Watchshop since you can get Seiko NH35, ceramic bezels on most of them and a metal strap for less than this when they're on sale (they aren't ATM), good lume as well, though they're only 200m and this is 300m. (edited)

I'd be careful of the Depth Charge watches if you are in any way triggered by bezel or chapter ring misalignments. Mine looks great, is comfortable and runs well, but the bezel drives me nuts and I haven't worn it more than a few times.

British Design. Chinese clone brand. Avoid and get a Seiko instead.

I try not to feed the trolls but with such an epic fail of a comment. Deary me, is that a Seiko made in China or with Chinese parts? You really need to take the tin foil hat off. Perhaps then you may even post a deal. Say hi to Liz for me.

Who would have thought Rotary international made watches.

Why have people got good and bad to say about this watch?

Because watch snobbery is real. This is a good price. Its very well specced for the price. I would have it if I didn't already have a bunch of dive watches. Plus I haven't even revealed my last watch purchase to the boss.
