"less than 1/2 price" - another argos con!

* Please note item 8500849 has previously been on sale at 17.49.

reserved one, heat added.
thanks

Link fixed, thanks for posting

Seems a great price. I know its more than double the price but we got this one a couple of weeks ago from Argos and are really pleased with the quality of it as our last couple of cheap ones from Tesco broke

Explain the con.
The catalogue price is £34.99 - Yes!
The current price is less than half price - Yes!
They tell you that this was previously reduced to £17.49 (which was also less than half price) - Yes!
Must be a highly covert con that I obviously can't see.

Thanks OP looks good. Cheap price and favourable reviews. Reserved. Heat added

lol - you sound like a salesman's wet dream! I guess you get taken in by the BOGOF supermarket deals too

for those who cant see the con (surely there cant be many!):-

put it in the catalogue at £34.99 and nobody buys it

put it down to £17.49 for a few weeks

reduce to £13.99 and claim cheaper than half price

still, pretty good for £14 but overpriced at £35.

Reserved an collected it. Looks very good quality to me.

bought one of these (3 arm one) from Sainsburys last week for £18 it is an Addis one, not sure if that is a better make? I did laugh when I read that this one holds 4 wash loads - not with the loads I cram in it wouldn't!

Just bought one a bargain for £13.99 very good quality

whats the spike like is it metal ?

Got one of these yesterday as my old one broke... plastic bit at bottom as meant to be sunk into concrete rather than ground. Very big line compared to my old one, make sure you leave plenty of space for it!

just got mine , very good for £13.99

No, I can assure you I'm very good at avoiding manipulative offers. £35 is roughly the price that this would sell for normally, perhaps a bit less. If you shop around you may get it a little bit cheaper. At the end of the day this is a good offer, not a con.
It would be a con if they put all their products in the catalogue at double the average cost and then have 1/2 price sales.

I'm not defending Argos, a lot of their stuff is crappy and overpriced but I don't get why this particular deal is a con.

Maybe you should set up a forum called hotUKcons.com

Would any of the Rotaire covers fit with this?

You get a cover included already

Isn't that just to cover it when it's down, rather than to cover your washing in case of rain?

Assuming you check the price and it's roughly the standard price for 1 which it usually is then BOGOF is usually a decent deal and sometimes a very good deal. Am I missing something that your top level discernment is picking up?

just got mine picked up a proper ground spike the socket included dont look that strong and its unbranded no name no vileda wrote on packaging.

there is this one for sale as well £15.99

How easy is it to fold it, take it out and put it back up again?
Thanks

very easy it has a clip you use to lower the arms and a velcro strap to keep it together and a cover that fits over then it just lifts out the ground spike/socket.

Can someone please tell me how long one side of the square is please?

Want to combine this with a Rotaire Dryline, they can fit 1.7 metres to 2.5 metres
