Cheap way to visit some fantastic locations as part of a round the world trip. Where possible you are booking directly with the airline (4/6 of the sectors) although you will need to book via an agent for 2 of the sectors. This price is based on hand luggage only (this is definitely possible if you can strategically wash your clothes) as adding hold luggage will add on several hundreds of pounds to the cost. Please note that you will be departing from London Luton but returning to London Gatwick so just simply jump on a Thameslink service back to Luton if you parked your car at the airport Credit to TravelFree for some of this itinerary

1) Book London Luton to Sofia directly with Wizz Air. Example date 5th March (this gives you two days in Sofia) although you can leave earlier if you wish. £26p/p

2) Book Sofia to Dubai directly with Wizz Air. Example date 7th March. £34p/p

3) Book Dubai to Manila via Skyscanner. Example date 11th March. There are a variety of agents that you can book through - Lastminute.com is the most well known out of them. £127p/p - £133p/p

3323308.jpg
4) Book Manila to Hong Kong via Skyscanner (using Trip.com as the agent). Example date 16th March. £25p/p

5) Book Hong Kong to New York via Skyscanner (booking directly with China Southern). Example date 22nd March. £154p/p

6) Book New York to London through Skyscanner (booking using Norwegian). Example date 27th March. £105p/p

How many have you tried? I've flown with all of them, no problems whatsoever. A deal is a deal ....

Hand luggage only

Nothing wrong with that. I spent 2 weeks in Thailand on hand luggage only. Get a good quality daysack (5.11 Rush 72 or equivalent) and it is more than enough.

You can buy as you go and dispose if you need to.

Great bit of work !!
Great work and effort 🏼
Hand luggage only
Now you’ve managed to find all the weird and interesting flight route deals can you please move on to finding some more straightforward flight route bargains
Re: Wizz to Dubai.
That's a long way in a budget tin can for 5hrs. Recommend paying for the XL seats or near the front.
My polish flight (37D) was rubbing knees for 2hrs. (7A) was better.

Cracking cheap way to do RTW though. Heat !
GREAT!!
is there a way to find these flights and work out a round the world trip on the cheap?

I agree but you actually split the flight to Dubai into two 3 hour flights which is quite handy...

Interesting trip, but the HK-NY sector is a deal breaker for me. Need to add a break somewhere. Heat for the effort.
cool - sorry, I meant cool deal, have some heat!

Don't forget you have to pay extra ( Priority Boarding) to get regular Hand Luggage with Wizz or you can only take a very small bag. 40x30x20

22 days away with 5 destinations, split with 1 day in Sofia, 4 days in Dubai, 4.5 days in Manila/Philippines, 6 days in Hong Kong, and finally after a 24 hour flight 3.5 days in New York, seems like a decent time period other than the long flight from HKG to JFK with the 7.5 hour lay-over needed. I'd be looking at alternate routes out of HKG to North America west coast, or a stop somewhere else to break up that long leg.

I agree I have flown them all too and they are fine. The biggest issue will be long haul on a budget airline.

New York isn't actually that much further compared to LA for example. 150 quid is a bargain for a cross Pacific route. There are a lack of destinations to break up a Pacific crossing and can make the journey notably longer.

If you have the time a trans Pacific cruise is great.

Just a reminder that each of these flights are direct. I have personally verified this.

Kindest regards

Thanks
Great work. If I hadn't booked a couple of flights in the BA sale already this week I would have been very tempted.

Yeh. Have a lot of time on your hands
This was fantastic. I fail to understand people who want to lug 46kg accross the world. Hand luggage is more than adequate.
Does this include carbon offset

This is ridiculous. I fail to understand people who only take hand luggage. 20kg is more than adequate.

About £300 difference, I would not classify this as 'a few quid more'...

Did that flight back in 2001 when it was the longest non stop flight you could take at 15.5 hours.

A lot has changed since then, including me not being able to travel to the USA...
Great deal. China Southern is one of the best airlines I've flown with and was 14th top airline on Skytrax in 2019 ahead of BA, Virgin and Malaysia Airlines so people need to do some research...I agree on the hand luggage stuff too. I have a 35L backpack which is all I took for my 7 week trip hiking in Nepal this year. Haven't checked in a bag in years and I travel frequently. Great work!

Why? nowt wrong with Wizz Air or Norwegian, they are the ones I've used - its posted as a budget trip. Up untill a few years ago on Wizz there were no premium seats, in fact you just turned up and sat anywhere ( bar the cockpit )

Wow, you can fly from Hong Kong to New York for a cheaper price than it is from Alicante to Manchester...!!
