Sorry, the usual comment from me about your brain being worth more than £75 (let alone the reduced price of £29) - in perspective, my new helmet cost £480 because my brain is a bit more valuable that the contents of my purse....

I second that.

People with £30 heads buy a £30 helmet

Ideal for those that go karting and a better choice than the ones they loan to you.

I've yet to meet a biker on the road that seems to have a brain in their head, so surely tissue paper would do for them?

I disagree, helmets are all made to the required standard to protect your head in the event of an accident, you pay more for fireproofing, ventilation, weight and comfort. How likely is your head to be caught in a fire, and how important is comfort? (worth a couple of hundred quid to me personally - doubt anyone on this site has £480 to throw around).

If you're looking for further choice Busters are still doing the £25 Tikachis with £5 postage - although might be poorer quality as they were never (apparently) £75.

I do love it when people make the most ridiculous claims about something they clearly have no knowledge of whatsoever….oh how we all laugh at them…..

Nice find and deal......it'll be fine for karting or a track day which ACU standard is req'd for  . BUT ACU have sold out a bit by being paid for the GOLD standard sticker so it's lost credibility (]google)
ACU Gold stickers were normally awarded to motorcycle helmets meeting the BSI Type A safety standard, while the ACU Silver stickers were awarded to helmets meeting the BSI Type B standard. But with the adoption of the ECE 22.05 safety standards, the Silver sticker had been discontinued.

However, it was recently found that the ACU has been selling ACU Gold stickers to distributors of many different types of motorcycle helmets whether or not they met BSI Type A. It was claimed that since the ACU received a royalty for the use of the sticker that they were devaluing the worth of the ACU Gold sticker by selling them to many undeserving motorcycle helmet manufacturers.

If I ever have the mis fortune (again!!) to be travelling down the road at 65 mph having left my bike 200 yards behind me I would ONLY have a shoei or Arai. It saved my life, destroyed it in the process but £400 well spent :-D

Voted HOT for karting or a track day use

my gloves alone, in fact everthing else I wear on my bike, cost more than that!!

Fireproofing?!? I laugh.

As far as i'm aware there are no fireproof helmets available. You never noticed those fire-proof balaclavas racers remove after a race? You think they're a fashion accessory?

Wouldn't even use it for karting personally

An old helmet of good quality is still better than this rubbish

As an ex-racer I can see the benefits of a good helmet. I have crashed in most makes from Nitro to Arai and have to say that I probably owe my life to an Arai after a 130mph off and getting run over by another racer as I slide down the track.

However I would also say that in my opinion helmet fit is just as important as brand, the number of people you see with heads rattling around in incorrectly fitting Shoei or Arai lids is alarming. but as long as it's an Arai they'll be fine

I’d have no issue wearing one of these if I was pottering around on a 50cc moped.

Then do some reading, I listed it as one of the "extras" that is not covered by BSI, which you may find in a more expensive helmet.

No, there's no differing point of view - you're simply wrong, live with it.

And finally, it would be nice if we had the disposable income to spend on expensive gear, it would also be nice if we could (or our daddies could) all afford big houses and skiiing holidays every other weekend - but we cant, fortunately there are guidelines in place to assure those of us that cannot spend a monkey on a helmet that we are still getting something that will adequately protect our head in the event of an accident.

Just because you believed the Shoei salesmans patter doesnt make it gospel, although I'm sure he will be having a happier christmas as a result

sigh, I shouldnt bother I know.

Last post I'm wasting my time on, I'm not getting into a weeing contest about who can waste more time on google trying to justify their own viewpoint. However if we're taking cheap shots I'll say this - persuading other people to spend as much money as you have doesnt justify you paying through the nose for something you dont need - there's one born every minute.

Merry Christmas

Firstly I am for a happy medium - would never spend £75 for an helmet nor would I spend £500 for brand and grafics. A well fitting helmet from a reputable brand does me. My motto as in most things in life is that is better to get the "bottom" of the range of a good brand , rather than the top of the range of a ***** brand.

Secondly - in my opinion - if you cant afford to buy the gear then you cant afford to have a bike. What the point in spending £5/6 K on a bike and then buy a £75 helmet! Like I said my winter gloves cost more than that and I was not buying top of the range because the Alpinestairs winter gloves I liked are £199.00!!

Thirdly - my daddy did not provide for me since I left home to live abroad at 18 and have been indipendent and looked after myself since then. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

As I stated earlier, I think that if you had crashed and skidded down a road a high speed you DO NEED a decent level of equipment, it's a bit late to test that out when your helmet gives out and your face is bouncing down a road. Full leathers - HIGH spec helmet, gloves & boots IS ESSENTIAL NOT A LUXURY at ALL times ( Teeshirt & shorts wearers in summer  )

I take it from your lack of understanding between £70 and £400 for a / YOUR life you are clearly NOT a biker, if you were you would appreciate this is a fundemental & crucial difference.
Voted HOT for karting or a track day use - Merry Christmas to all
