Different colour model at Argos for £24.99

Very good price for an auto shut-off iron.

The one for dale in Argos is a different cheaper model.

Just bought one of these irons to replace my old Tefal ultraglide which continuously dripped (GRRR) The colour really is a pain because you can't see the fill level very well. Worth bearing in mind if you are looking to buy.

An okay deal.
But, For a little more, you can get a steam generating iron, makes life a lot easier.

Can you recommend a steam generating iron which costs not much more than £30 which is any good?

Love the token sexist comments these threads inevitably attract, keep em coming absolutely hilarious!! Especially about birthday / xmas / anniversary presents - original and witty

Well, the rrp of this iron in this deal is £69.99, you can get cheaper steam generators than that:

Admittedly, this is still much dearer than the offer. Note the good reviews.
I have seen them as low as the £40 mark in discounters such as Watt brothers, I'm not really sure what constitutes what you would consider a good make in an iron????
I've had my steam generator a long time and as well as ease of ironing, I find that the sole plate never burns, a cause in the past for replacing many an ordinary iron.
Hope I've been helpful.
God Bless

Thanks - it's just hard to know which of the cheaper steam generators are actually any good when compared with a similarly priced regular iron.

I've had cheaper steam generators (£60-£80) and they are just useless, cheap build quality, bulky and unpractical, no need for a steam generator unless you iron for a living!

My old Tefal is about 4 years old and it still works very well, produces steam and ready to go after 10 seconds when you plug it in! Really don't see the need for steam generators, capitalism at its finest.

Auto shut off feature used to be quite common on irons. now only seem on expensive irons.
