Yes you need to be a member of BA exec club or Avios and will need 9,000 Avios points to make a redemption (refer to post)

You can convert Tesco clubcard points into Avios but I think this takes a couple of days and maybe too late given that this sale will be on for 2 days

Here's the link to signup free for the BA exec club britishairways.com/tra…_gb

Thanks, I've registered but guess I will have to wait until the next time to take advantage of this. Still hot for those that can use it now

I'm not 100% sure if it will work with this promotion but you can get a free (i.e. no extra avios and no cash needed) one-way domestic flight with the reward flight saver fares, and it doesn't need to be taken at the same time as the original flight. E.g. I flew from Norway to Heathrow last September, and have a free flight from Gatwick to Edinburgh in June.

If you want a stopover in London I believe you need to book it via BA.com instead of Avios.com though. You can get the free flight at Avios but I don't think it gives you the option to have a stopover.

If you do a transfer from Tesco now (assuming you have enough points), there is a decent chance you'll get them in time. I transferred some last week and they were in my account the next day.

Cool, I have 60,000 Avios to get rid of, this should come in handy

Hope they have ironed out their systems, when the first one went live I gave up in the end it was hopeless..make sure you have plenty time. Good luck

So 9,000 points will roughly be £37.5 worth of clubcard points?

Thats right 600 Avios points = £2.50 Tesco clubcard vouchers

Normally it's points +£35

It does say that 3 times in the deal description/title, as well as being on a banner in post 1!

Fantastic deal. I'll be booking something, for sure!

I've got one free ticket as I spent more than £15,000 in my credit card last year.

Callum9999: how does your free internal flight work?

I've used flights to Istanbul one way and it never had the free internal flight option before on the ba site? Can you clarify this? Thanks.

well spotted, thanks

Thanks!

Annoyingly the avios website says it takes up to 28 days for clubcard conversions to appear in your avios account

I converted my clubcard points last night and they are in my avios account already.

Can imagine it may take longer now because of the potential rush of peeps converting their clubcars points

A newbie question, is it an one-way flight? Or it is return?

Just read title saw return

Useful site. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent, I will be booking a couple of flights I think at that price. I have over 200,000 Avios miles now so need to start spending them.:)

Book a flight from Istanbul to anywhere in the UK via London and the domestic leg is free.

If you want to take that domestic leg later on it will give you the option on the next page to stopover in London.

That'll be the TSB or Lloyds Premier Duo card I reckon.

Disappointing the destination list is so restricted for this offer, but a great deal if you're looking at these destinations anyway.

Living in the Midlands I seem to accumulate points much quicker than I can spend them, as by the time I've factored in travel to London and a potential overnight stay I could just fly out of Birmingham with a budget airline wish BA would come back to Birmingham and that Avios would allow direct flights from non-London airports rather than internal transfers only.

That'll probably be Americanexpress....spend £10,000 p.a. on a fee card(£150) a year and get a free companion ticket, you only pay tax...use it for long hol for first class flight to get the max out of it...:-)

These are live now, thanks

Thanks for posting. This may be a silly question about Avios in general, but just wondering if my account is expiring in april'14 how do I get it extended so my miles don't all go to waste?

Thanks

Just to clarify then - if I don't have avios points and I don't have clubcard points then is this deal useless to me?

To stop your account expiring you need to earn 1 mile. Just go through their storefront when you do online shopping and buy something. You can go through ba storefront to eBay, so just buy something over a pound

I fly frequently and use these reward flights for the family trips on half term. the hotel booking facility on BA.com is also very good and I like how you can tier the points and cash if you don't want to use too many avios. Had 5 nights in Lisbon for £240 (flights + hotel) and only cost about 80k miles.
